Hi! I'm new to this whole decrypt..shrink...thing...actually I only learned those words a few hours ago...

so I thought I had everything figured out but apparently I don't.

I'm using DVD Decrypter, and DVD Shrink 3.2

I put the DVD in, pull up decrypter, change mode to IFO I, and change destination to it's own file...and proceed to decrypting the dvd. all is well..that works.

but when I get to DVD shrink...it won't open anything! I go to Open Files...click on shopgirl (that's the movie) and I get the error message
"DVD Shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue.
Failed to open file C:/Documents and Settings/aaa/My Documents/My Videos/Shopgirl/VIDEO_TS.IFO
The system cannot find the file specified."

and that's that..I have NO clue what to do...I use Windows XP if that means anything...I downloaded ImgBurn, DVD Shrink 3.2, DVD Decrypter, and IFO Edit.

I have Nero Startsmart (I think that's what it's called), and otherwise I don't know....

I've been trying to do this for a while and am just out of luck...Please Please! help me with some nice easy to follow instructions!

Thank you!

Maybe try decripter in file mode, then shrink, and see if that works.

Rip in file mode in decrypter and then open files in shrink. Or rip in iso read mode in decrypter and under the file tab in shrink choose open image. Actually if this movie has no special encryption, shrink could do it by its lonesome.

I was so ugly when I was a kid, my parents used to take me everywhere just so they wouldn't have to kiss me goodbye.

Afterdawn Guides are a great place to start for newbies:

DVD Shrink Guide:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd9_to_dvdr_with_dvd_shr...

If you output the Video_TS folder, you can burn with Nero:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burning_dvd_with_nero.cfm

If you output an iso image from DVD Shrink, you can also use Nero, but may prefer to burn iso images with DVD Decrypter or Imgburn (they both use the same burning engine):
DVD Decrypter burning Guide:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_dvd_folder_dvd_decry...

Imgburn Guide:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burn_dvd_folder_imgburn.cfm

Also should be noted, if you had DVD Shrink output an iso image, you can skip the first part of both the DVD Decrypter guide and Imgburn burn guide (the steps that required the use of Folder2iso and Imgtool classic). Also, if you don't have Nero, both DVD Decrypter and Imgburn are free. If you do need to create an iso image from a Video_TS folder, I suggest staying away from Folder2iso and only use Imgtool classic to create the iso, I have never had problems when using Imgtool classic. Hope this helps a little.
