Hi..

On this forum, the only media people will tell you to use is verbatim, taiyo yuden, or fuji. Maxell is good stuff too! Buy japanese media when you can.

efinity is some off brand.

if you dont want it to last long without accumulating errors, or one day not working at all and having to make another backup copy of it again then yea its good. or you could just spend a few extra cents per disc and get some good media like GregRod mentioned and get good burns long life. whichever fits your style

wow, even I have never heard of eFinity brand before~ and as far as U.S. media brands are concerned, i've used MOST of them before at one point or another... :) where are you located PhiHung? are you in the U.S.? or Europe/Asia?

the fact that it is an "off brand", the manufacturers for your media could be a myriad of possibilities~ :) if you could (assuming you have some in your possession), run a dvd identifier check on it to determine the manufacturer~ :)

i would imagine that it is not very good, but this is only speculation as i have never even heard of eFinity round my neck of the woods here in the U.S.~ :)

We dont have that brand in Australia either, we have tons of cheap crappy media with all sorts of names coming through made in China but that is not one of them.

Yes - Brand names may or may not be important - Manufacturers who actually makes the media is more important - as the other members said there's Actually a lot of crappy media ! out there ! And more everyday - The Guys gave you good advice I would add if you are going to use Taiwan made media I would suggest - Verbatim 1st. and Ritek - Maxell taiwan made / officedepot branded-ritek or riteks own media as a second choice ! IN the japanese made media It's a Lock - Taiyo Yuden ! either under their own name or as Japanese made Fuji's or Sony's Made in japan 8X Dvd+R's in particular ! Also Maxell makes some media in japan themselves - Maxell/Hitachi = Hitachi is maxells parent company( DADDY!!!) and it to is very well regarded! Any of these should do you just fine assuming that they work well in your drive of course ! You may want to download a program called DVD IDENTIFIER this will tell you who actually makes the media as opposed to who's name is on the label ! Good luck & happy burning!

i am MORE THAN WILLING TO BET that you got yourself some FAKE TAIYO YUDENS there, so dvdidentifier is only 1/2 the answer...

first off, i am going to GUESS that your media is NOT made in japan, either taiwan, china, or some other asian country; therefore, it is NOT a genuine Taiyo Yuden media...

to "double check" on my assumption, look around the inner hub for the following laser inscribed coding or something similar "GG000123", IF you find it, then they are GENUINE Taiyo Yudens, IF NOT, you got yourself some FAKE TYS and from my OWN experience of FAKE TYS, they are VERY VERY BAD QUALITY media...

TYG02 MID coding = GG000xxx (where xxx is the batch number of when they were made) on the hub area right where the dye starts(just outside of the clear hole in the middle of the disc)

for YOUR sake, i hope it's REAL, but like i said...im willing to bet it's a FAKE TY~ :)
