Not sure if this is in the right forum but my problem is this:
I use my camcorder to film my family and i put the film onto disk by connecting my camcorder to my home dvd recorder, record it all then i take the dvd to my computer and rip it and convert it to divx so i can edit it (i've tried lots of other ways but i find this the easiest)

I have a home divx player so thats why i use this method.

the dvd i rip is always 16.9 (checked with avicodec) but after i converted it to divx (i use Magic dvd ripper) no matter what setting i use its always 4.3
so when i convert it back to dvd and play it on a standalone dvd player it won't fill up the screen.

Has anyone got any idea where i'm going wrong?
