I'm totally new to the world of ripping, shrinking, authoring burning, etc. so please forgive me if my questions sound dumb.

I Goggle and found your site with the same exact problem Karen was having -- "Shrink DVD clips into PowerPoint -- need to convert". Exactly what I need to do for a presentation I'm giving. I need to take DVD clips embedded in my PowerPoint presentation.

I downloaded what members told Karen to do and which work out well for her DVD Shrink, CloneDVDmobile, Clone DVD, IMTooDVD, and something called FFDshow and I have RecordNow. I had the same problem Karen had nothing show up in PowerPoint I need to learn something fast. The FFDshow I do not fully understand how to use and ImToo Guide was for ImTOODVD Ripper 2.

I really need help with this - again, I'm totally new at all this, but I see this could be fun using once you get the hang of it!

Thanks, any and all suggestions would be helpful!

You used Karen's problem as an example, but failed to supply us with a link to that post. Here's a hint. Shrink and the other DVD transcoders, some with editing abilities are for use with DVD compliant files. That means they use IFO, BUP, and VOB files from a Video_TS folder. Even from an ISO image, those files are inside. To get the DVD into the Powerpoint presentation, you need to figure what format you need to convert the DVD to and use the appropriate software. This is a bit more complicated than the normal newbie question and I suspect this question was teleported here in error. This is more for using DVD in presentations than the making of DVDs and DVD backups.
