Ok bear with me hear as I am posting this topic for someone who I will not let on my computer but has no internet. While trying to use DVDShring v. 3.2( have had no luck in obtaining the rest of the version numbe so am going to assume that it is 3.2.0.15) and Nero v. Nero Smart (I know it sucks trying to help someone that offers this poor of information but I will not go over to the house due to hygiene issues (I am not phobic but he is a disgusting filthy gross slob) (Why AM I helping this person)) and is able to go through the whole process but when he clicks on back-up dvd a pop-up appears asking if he is in the U.S. When Yes is clicked everything disappears and nothing supposedly happens.

If you are willing to suffer headaches with me while I play messenger I would be extremely grateful.

@Synnastyr

Well, if you can take a little time to read and willing to learn, then I'm sure it won't be hard to "rip and backup" any dvds/movies at all. Since you already had DVD Shrink and Nero, all you need now is "DVDFAB Decrypter and VobBlanker", then rest is pretty simple.

You'll need either DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker (both FREE) to bypass newer released dvds, or you can try out AnyDVD (a retail cracking engine from slysoft). And of course, if you're willing to take the extra steps and learn about DVD Decrypter + PSL plugins + VobBlanker/FixVTS, then this is another FREE and flawless method as well. The choice is yours.

Just in case if you want to go with the FREE route and you're interested on how to use "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker", then here http://www.k-probe.com/backup-newly-release-movie-DVD-DVDFAB-Decr... is my "newly revised" guide. It is NOT that hard, all you need to do is spend some times and read and follow the steps closely and you'll be able to "rip and backup" any dvds/movies in no time.

**NOTE: DVDFAB Decrypter to rip is only "12 minutes" and VobBlanker to process the VIDEO_TS.IFO is only "5 minutes". The rest you can substitute Nero Recode 2 with DVD Shrink if you like.

Best of luck and happy burning.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

Thank you for the info though supposedly my friends father uses nothing but DVDShrink and NeroSmart with no other programs or plugins. Evidently trying to get in touch with this man is nigh impossible hence me posting this thread topic. I will check into it and see if it solves his problem. Thank You again.

hey Synnastyr i use nothing but dvdshrink/nero takes about 75 mins from start to finish. occasionally (about 1 in 30) i get an awkard dvd that fails on the redundancy cycle check (this is usually caused by wear). only then do i use dvdfabdecrypter/shrink/nero. in about 20 years i have only had about a dozen failures that i couldn't back up. if you still having probs send an email to;

Good question. It won't last long though, if it kept up.

How about getting back to the topic at hand. Instead of wasting time (mine and everyone elses) with post replies that should have been done in email, IM or just in talking to your monitor.

So far no luck with what little help that was offered in this thread.

well the trash had to be emptied from the thread.

anyway we need more to go on, it's no wonder very little help has been given, 'fraid we're not moind readers :). maybe you can tolerate this person's filthy habits long enough to get us more info saved to a floppy or usb stick or something. would be handy if you had something like a usb stick anyway as we will probably need to update firmware etc etc etc.

get the Nero info-tool (long) output saved and post back here
