Yes i got an elf file for this, put it on a pen drive, then ptu in swap magic 3.6 dvd version. I then laoded the elf and it loaded, but when doing the checks to make sure everything was in order, right after the part when it gives me my network address, it said GUI STRING--FAILED and it will not go an farther. Any ideas? Anybody?

its coz its not liking being loaded from USB, when it gets to that stage it needs USBD.IRX to be stored on your memory card for it to continue loading.So you need to get USBD.IRX onto your memory card root folder.

thanks, but one how would i do that. and two where is the root folder on the memory card, can't i just put it on there using some program like mckiller or something?

or could i just burn everything onto a cd and then use swap magic then load a cd-r into the ps2

You could use Independence Compiler to make an exploit cd which would solve the problem. If your wanting Myps2 for MP3 playback get SMS media player instead as its way more stable and also plays DivX files. Theres even a tool on its homepage that let you burn cd/dvd's with mp3 and DivX files and it will load in a completly unmodded ps2 with no swapping.
