I'm finally getting a Disc Read Error on a couple games.

Should I go thorugh with the process of opening it? Does it help at all?

on some games like World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker that have the purple disc my slimline v14 doesn't work but they did work on my FAT one (which i don't have anymore)

well, it is God Of War that isnt working, and all blue discs arent working unless i turn my PS2 into the Vertical position.

well, I did it...I opened my PS2, cleaned the lense, put everything back together, and it plays like new.

Yeah, working better in the vertical position is a sign of weakning or dirty laser. Be sure to yell back if you have any more read issues and are sure it is not laser related. I am trying to learn a little about the "decay copyright protection I've heard about." Doesn't seem to be that big yet. CD
