I opened these files in PgcEdit and recieved an error in vts 22. It seems that there was 122mb of nothing but blank. In PgcEdit I chose to delete the last vts which so happens to be the problem. Now everything is fine.

I got it ,i had to use pgcedit, and it threw a fit about bad referenced files, numerous warnings, i just skipped them all, then after it finished, i tried DVD Shrink, had to end up using VOB blanker and then shrink accepted it and burned it perfect

While you were in PgcEdit, you could have deleted the last VTS and that would have solved it.

I backed up this movie using dvdfab decryptor - VOB blanker and then used Shrink. This was a simple back up to do. i got the movie onto the harddrive using the dvdfab then i processed the entire movie in VOB blanker then i opened it in shrink and compressed. The rest is just to burn the movie to disc using which ever software you use to back-up discs.
All movies so far with the sony protection all it calls for is the VOB blanker unless you pay for "Anydvd" which works well too

@those that needed helps or interested in some FREE tools
All you need is DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker and it is "guarantee" to have a successful backup in no time. Here http://www.k-probe.com/backup-newly-release-movie-DVD-DVDFAB-Decr... is my new revised "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker" guide, if ya'll don't have Nero Recode, you can always substitute Recode with DVD Shrink. The choice is yours, either you use "AnyDVD" or "DVDFAB Decrypter" and post process the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker.
Good luck to all and happy burning.

The best I could do with this flick is copy main movie only using Clone DVD2 ver 2.8.5.1.Total processing time 7min 08sec. Tried to rip to HDD with both DVD Fab Platinum and the AnyDVD ripper, but when I tried to open the files with Shrink 3.2 I got an invalid data error of some kind.
Version of AnyDVD is 5.9.5.6. Received Invalid DVD Navigation Structure error when trying to directly open disc with Shrink 3.2. Well, good luck all. Later-out.

Yes. The last VTS is invalid and needs to be removed.

Used DVD FAB DECRYPTER to rip to HDD. Then opened SHRNK. Selected "Reauthor" option. Navigated to the correct DVD FAB rip folder. Double-clicked that folder. Then dragged the Main Title from right pane to left pane. Cliked on Compression Tab. Unchecked everything but DDD 5.1 audio. Then ripped this Main Title to HDD as ISO file. Finally burned the ISO file to a blank DVD+R (at 4X) using IMGBURN.
The above procedure is my Stand Operating Procedure (SOP) for any DVD that mentions the dreaded words "SONY". Notice all the software used is free, readily available for download, and simple to use.
I almost always only backup the main title - menus, warning screens, MPAA Ratings, previews, etc., aren't worth backing up. Occasionally I'll tack on, as a separate title in the reauthor stage above, any interesting "makings of" or interviews on the DVD.

I backed up my copy, easy. AnyDVD 5.9.6.1 and Shrink. Ripped and burned fine. Though, it won't play on my crappy Apex, but it does in the PS2.

@nyjetfan, do you have the latest version of AnyDVD, if not, you can download the free trial, just leave it run in the background, and use dvdshrink! worked for me!

As explained above, there are a few ways to backup this movie. DvdFab Decrypter will do this. For those die hard DVD Decrypter fans, that's explained as well.

"backup" failed with my usual combo:
CloneDVD2 2.8.2.1 + AnyDVD 5.1.1.1.
I installed/dried DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 (failed)
I installed/tried DVD Shrink 3.2 (failed)
Finally I upgraded AnyDVD to 5.9.6.1.
The combo CloneDVD 2.8.2.1 + AnyDVD 5.9.6.1 worked.

If it's worth anything, I was able to backup this movie by using DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD running in the background, and then running file through clonedvd2. Good luck.

HOW TO COPY WHEN A STRANGER CALLS:
THIS DVD MIGHT TAKE FROM 50 MIN TO A HOUR 15 MIN TO PREPARE FOR A DVD-R, DEPENDING ON CPU SPEED.
FOR STEPS 1-3 PLEASE CREATE DIFFERENT FOLDERS FOR EACH STEP SO YOU DONT END UP WITH A SHITLOAD OF FILES IN 1 FOLDER.
1ST, USE DVD FAB, IT WILL TAKE ATLEAST 35 MIN TO RIP AND MIGHT APPEAR TO HAVE STOPPED, BUT WILL RIP!
2ND, USE VOB BLANKER AND SELECT THE FOLDER WHERE THE 76 FILES DVD FAB RIPPED TO, THEN CLICK SKIP ALL, THEN SELECT THE VTS_01_*VOB FILE, IT SHOULD BE 5188MB IN SIZE AND 5180 IN FINAL SIZE. THEN ON RIGHT CLICK PROCESS, THEN AT BOTTOM CLICK PROCESS.
3RD, USE DVD2One THEN CLICK COPY AS MOVIE ONLY AND SELECT THE FOLDER WHERE THE 10 FILES VOB BLANKER RIPPED TO.
4TH, BURN WITH Nero!
DVD WILL START OFF PLAYING THEN IT APPEARS MESSED UP FOR FEW SECONDS, BUT DON'T WORRY IT CORRECTS IT'S SELF FAST THEN PLAYS FINE TO THE END.
CONGRATS YOU NOW HAVE A BACKUP COPY :)
IF YOU THINK YOU GOT A BETTER PLAN ON RIPPING THIS DVD, GO FOR IT, LMFAO!
VERSIONS USED:
DVDFAB DECRYPTER 2.9.7.2
VOB BLANKER 2.0.1.0
DVD2ONE 2.0.0
WHEN A STRANGER CALLS, RELEASED ON VIDEO 5/16/06
