What program did you use to backup your game? Also what media did you use?

DVD Decrypter is the best software to use to backup PS2 games. As with the media, the Verbatim 8x DVD-R is probably the best you got for a PS2. Just a question, does your original game still work?
Also, what speed do you burn the games at? Try to burn at a slow speed (i.e. nothing more than 4x MAX! I usually burn at 2x)

Yes my original game work. I can start my original game pause it take it out and put in a copy and it will conintue to play as if it were the original. It just won't boot the copy. I usually burn anywhere from 1x to 8x

Hmm, if that works I'm guessing your backups should be fine, in which case I'd be suspecting a dodgy swap magic disc... do you have any friends who have the same disc that you can borrow to try, before you take the discs back to the store for a replacement?

Did you buy the discs from a store online or locally? Problem with buying online and trying to return things is you get charged shipping, which usually adds up to a ridiculously high amount...
Have you tried other games? A few things I can think of that you can try:
- Make sure you are using the DVD disc (there should be 2 swap magic discs - DVD and CD) when loading DVD backup
- From memory swap magic has some special boot functions, give those a try
- What game are you trying to play? I know swap magic won't boot some games and you have to get a patch for it to load properly (although this applies more to the older version of swap magic, and not so much 3.6)
- Try using the swap magic disc to boot the original (of the same game) and see if it boots?

I bought it at http://www.baysoftgames.com/ps2flipcov.html. I just don't get why it won't work. I put the dvd swap dick in wait until it says Load proram then i put the backup in but no backup i've made works. It boots the original and i am using the dvd disk. The game is Need For Speed Most Wanted.
Well thanx for your help

Ok, isn't NFSMW DVD9?? So did you burn it onto a dual layer disc, or did you rebuild the game?

Try using a good DVD-R (Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim), old PS2s (V2 is pretty old) don't like DVD+R

Hmm, ok, it'll be one of the games that swap magic doesn't support, that's why you need to use cdloader on top of swap magic... congratulations on getting it to work :)
