last time i heard, it changes ur firmware version, but not really.

some people use WAB version changer to play 2.0 games, since they have a 'modded' v1.5. newer games require the firmware to be more updated for some reason sony made up of :P . sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

I dont recommend using this to run any UMDs, instead use one of these:
MPHGameLoader-Download from here:http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/348 (this requires firmware 2.00 in files format, download that from here: http://eternal-psp.vze.com/dl.htm )

Why wouldn't you use it. It helps launch a crapload of UMDs that require higher firmwares.
