I have two friends that want me to help them order and install something to let them play import games on their slim PStwo (not sure what my other friend's model number is). I've been searching around, and I'm confused about what exactly to use
According to a site, this is V13.
I've been searching, and found that the Magickey and Twisttool seem to be the easiest method. One site says that the Magickeys II will work with V12-14, but another site says only the Twisttool works with V13. I also seem to be having problems finding the Twisttool that includes Swap Magic in the US.
Give my MOD a shot. The link is in my signature. This method is free, and works perfectly for Version 13 and 14 slims(with the added plate near the hinge).
My console collection: Version 14A PlayStation 2(chipped), Version 7 PlayStation 2, PlayStation(both models), Wii, Gamecube, N64, Super NES(original from US and Japan and Mini), NES(front and top loader)Model 1 & 2 Genesis, Sega CD, Sega 32X, Atari 2600, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Master System(Model 1 and 2), Atari Flashback 1 & 2, FC Twin(2 in 1 NES/Super NES clone), GN Twin(2 in 1 NES/Genesis clone), Atari 7800, Intellivision II, TurboGrafx 16, GameBoy Color

yes, Swap Magic and a Slimtool/ Magic Switch/ Ghost Switch
is the easiest and cheapest way. Also has it drawbacks.
Then there are quality modchips like the DMS4 Pro, Matrix Infinity,
and Crystal Chip V1.1
These cost more and should be installed by a pro but are by far the best mod you can put in your PSTwo for playing back ups. Average cost is $50 for the chip and another $35 for an install.
Not all mods are created equal. I have a V7 with fliptop & Swap Magic. I also have a V12 with DMS4 Pro
I can tell you that since getting the premodded system i never even use the V7 as swapping is a pain, rebuilding some games was a pain, extra methods needed for playing with my AR Max was a pain, Screen cut off with discs from other regions was a pain. and other things i hae since forgoten.
Since both of my friends need one, I'm afraid that one of them might have V15 or V16. If I remember right, the Magic Keys II (Slimtool) doesn't work on V15 and above
the tools on that page look pretty much the same as everyone elses.
and with the flashing pictures i see that they seem to have one that will cover all models.
Your only worry will be how cheaply they are made and how easy they install.
My concern is piece C. According to the site though, "Special hightech plastic granulate from the aviation for the TwistTool C". Hopefully it is strong
Got the stuff today, and I'm having problems with the piece C, and was wondering if there was a site that sells just the pieces of a tool that would work on version 13 of the PStwo? I mainly just need the piece that goes by the hinge
