I have a ps2 american, with a modship. I dont know with one tough.
The ps2 is a scph39001.
I downloaded a REGIONX and burned the image of the CD. Unfortunatelly it doesnt seem to work.
I get a message saying that the version of the soft doenst support the version of my DVD reader, wich is 2.1
also, i dont have the code for my ps2 version.
well, i'm a little lost. Can anyone gimme a hint?

go to the perental lock and type in 4777
i think that is the universal code to unlock it if you forget the password. It will have this in your manual as well.

The only thing i get when i turn on the console with the DVD region X inside is the message:
DVD PLAYER = 2.12U
DVD-ID=2.12U
DVD region x does not support this version of dvd player.

I have that program on my Xbox and love it, so i have never tried to get it for PS2. Although even with that program your TV may still reject a movie from another region if it can not support that format.
there is another solution. Nero can transcode a movie for you and take a PAL movies and make it into a NTSC movie.
that way you could play it without the need for a seperate program.
Although i will admit that this process takes Nero A LONG time.
Last one i did took 7 hours.
with games yes, but not for movies as far as i know.
I have still had a few movies i got that would not play on the PS2 even with the modchip. The TV gave some sort of error message like
"TV system not supported"
Yet i took those same movies and stuck them in the Xbox which has DVD Region X to play movies, and they worked just fine on the same TV. But i can not say for sure it was due to the region because i forget what region it was. DVD Shrink i think can make them region free as long as you know the region code.
