I'm still pretty new to the PS2 mod scene and was wondering what homebrews people like and/or are useful.

Personal favourite is probably uLaunchELF. It doesn't do much itself but it has a menu which lets you load other programs, which I find really really handy. Also I find its the best program to copy anything from the PC to the PS2 (well, there's also ExecFTP for this purpose, but uLaunchELF works better when it comes to game saves).

Then there's PS2Reality Player, which lets you play DivX files with your PS2

HDLoader which lets you install a HDD to your PS2 and run games from the HDD instead of DVDs, so no damage will be done to your laser

... and the list goes on. It all depends on what you want to do

ye ulaunchelf is great, but i prefer SMS Media Player for DIVX/MP3 playback, as its way easier to use, just use the tools on their website to make a UMCDR and boot it up. Loads perfectly in my unmodded ps2.
