First off I am using DVD Decrypter and Shrink 3.2. I have tried over the course of the weekend to rip and burn 7 different DVD's with no success. DVDD seems to be working fine but eveytime I open Shrink and start to analyze it gets almost done when the same error message pops up everytime "cyclic redundancy". All of my source DVD's are new and in excellent condition, and I am using Sony media to burn too. Can someone please help, thanks?
No, all the dvd's I tried are not on the list.
1. Unfinished life
2. The 60's
3. When A Stranger Calls
4. The Producers
5. Doogal
6. Lord of the Rings:Two Towers
7. Munich
These are all the titles I tried.
All are genuine and originals
The crc error comes with less then 20 seconds left in the initial quick scan on all dvd's I tried
When you rip with DVD Decrypter, what mode are you using? File mode or ISO mode?
Try skipping the DVD Decrypter ripping step. Rip with DVD Shrink instead. See if it'll get past that crc error. Most of those movies are probably DVD-9 and you'll have to compress them with DVD Shrink. I don't even bother with ripping with DVD Decrypter-unless it's a DVD-5,so I use Mode ISO read and Mode ISO write.
Insert original/open up dvd shrink/open disc: See if it'll get through that initial/quick analysis and open up the movie files.
Some of the newer encryption,DVD Shrink has problems.Usually crc error during the initial analysis or invalid navigation error when you try re-authoring it. I use AnyDVD in the background to help DVD Shrink pull off those encryptions. The only one on your list I did was Lord of the Rings two towers, but that was a long time ago.
Munich/producers/Doogal/and stranger calls: These are newer, and I don't know what encryption they contain. I'll find out tomorrow with doogal.
Okay, I got shrink to work running AnyDVD in the background for the movie The Notebook...don't know exactly what i did but it worked. Now I've tried another dvd everything went fine up until the point where it should of burned, nothing happened. It was automatic with the first disc. Did I Forget some setting somewhere or what?
The notebook was a tricky one. I think if that one was done for entire disc, then the unreferenced folder had to be set under still image? It should have had the little boy in green shorts jumping around on the encryption. Re-authoring that one easility took care of it.
In the backup options-the screen that opens up when you click Backup- you want to check your backup target device. You'll want your burner selected and burn ISO with DVD Decrypter. Here's a pic:
Autoburn with Nero is the squiggly red circle/autoburn with DVD Decrypter is the squiggly blue/green one-you need yours set up to what you are burning with.
Open up dvd shrink/edit/preferences/and the File I/O tab: If using Nero, leave that enable burn with Nero box ticked. If using DVD Decrypter-leave it unticked.OK
When you get DVD Shrink set up to autoburn, people swear that DVD Shrink does the actual burning. It'll use several programs to autoburn: Nero6+/Dvd decrypter/Copytodvd/and maybe even IMGburn?
