ok, so I only got my new computer a week and a half ago, so I haven't become an expert burner yet. I have been burning older DVDs with no problem but recently when I've tried newer titles (like The Greatest Game Ever Played and Casanova) I encounter the following msg:
DVD shrink encountered an error and cannot continue
Invalid data in file "C:\CASANOVA\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB"
Overlapped I/O operation is in progress

now, what does this mean and how do I get around it? I'm using DVD Decrypter (3.5.4.0) in combination with DVD Shrink. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

It means that Shrink can't handle the new encryption that the newer movies have. If funds are unimportant then by all means spend $39 and buy AnyDVD from slysoft.com. There is also a free program>DVD Fab Decrypter here:

There are guides and other pearls and software here.

I don't have Casanova, but I do know that the Greatest Game has Ripguard on it and neither Shrink nor Decrypter will work for this movie. Do as garmoon suggests and try the trial of AnyDVD which is what I used to rip this movie, or the free DVDFab Decrypter.

ok, thanks for that!!! I downloaded the free one to test it out. It appears to have burnt it no prob, but it's only the movie?!? where did all the special fts and the main menu go?

Did you do a full disk backup of it or just the movie. DVDFab rips the whole thing. Here is a guide on how to use the programs
