Tried to copy 2 DVDs (Good Night and Good Luck & Little Shop Of Horrors) with DVDFab then DVD Shrink, the main movies on both discs play fine but most of the extras have no sound/audio.
GNAGL just has 1 or 2 trailers so no biggie. LSOH has a lot more extras; the Deleted Scenes & Bloopers, Documentary & TV Spots have good picture quality but no sound at all.
Previewed the ripped DVDFab files in Shrink for the extras and only the title 1 plus one or two more will play with sound. Also tried opening both DVDs (after cleaning them too) in Shrink, same results. Tried opening files and DVDs in Nero Recode, no change.
Have copied DVDs in worse condition using Fab and Shrink before that came out ok. Any ideas?
Thanks.

in shrink did you remove any "unspecified audio" as sometimes thats either the menu audio or the extras audio.

Yes, there were quite a few 0mb's on the audio options.
At this point, it seems like selecting the correct audio that would play in each extra title in the reauthor function is the only way to make sure they work. Nobody seems to know why or how Shrink, Decrypter, Fab, etc. are doing this with some DVDs.

The original DVDs themselves could possibly be bad-pressed ones.

I had this problem a few times and I thought it was because AnyDVD was enabled and I used DVDFab. But a couple weeks later it occured again even when AnyDVD was disabled. Then I tried burning with DVDClone instead of DVDShrink. That took care of the problem.
I have not pinpointed the cause of the problem but I just wanted to tell you that your not alone with this.

Thanks. Haven't tried DVDClone, maybe I'll see if I can get it one of these days and see if it also helps me with this problem.

Tried CloneDVD2 on Little Shop and Everything Is Illuminated (another dvd I have with the same problem) and both copies came out having working sound in everything. Burned both dvds from files ripped by DVDFab. It would seem like either Shrink finds problem(s) with the audio somehow and so doesn't analyze, encode or burn it properly with the video or the problem's just with Shrink.

Also had the problem with REcode 2 also (same programmer). Atleast we narrowed the problem down huh.

Yeah. Haven't had any different or significantly better results with Recode than I'd get with Shrink. Both are still useful, but it's a relief not having to still figure out anymore how to make them work with a problem like this.

I've ripped V for Vendetta with dvdfab, ran thru VobBlanker, then opened with dvdshrink. the preview plays aud/vid for the movie, but only video for the 15 min extra.
when I go to my hard drive folder, the and play the VOB itself, it does have sound.
anyone know how to get this working?

Did you use the newest version of DVDFab? Also, why did the ripped files need to be ran through VobBlanker before opening with Shrink?

it's not the latest, but it's never failed me before. plus, like I said, the problem seems to be with shrink, not fab. ie., the ripped vobs *do* have sound, it's just when shrink opens them that the extras lose sound.
I removed fbi/trailers with VobBlanker.

Ok, your second post explained much clearly as to what didn't work.
Some have had success with reauthoring extras and checking just the audio that works in Shrink, usually the 2ch one. I've tried this but didn't have any luck at all.
