Run iSO from Game menu instead of through loader?

I tried to search, using the words in the topic but I failed horribly. I also tried to look through the tutorials but probably missed it due to not knowing any specific names of what I need to use or do.

I have seen ripped games run on a PSP from the PSP's main Game menu, like a homebrew program would be ran. The games both used an "x" folder on the memory card root that contained a bunch of prx files.

Right now I have to go into the UMD Emulator program and select an iso to run it. Is there a way to extract the iSO and make/modify the eboot files in the iso to make it run like these other games, from the PSP's game menu?

you mean to make it run with the x folder?
or do you mean to take games with the x folder and run them as isos?

Extract existing isos to use the x folder and show up in the PSP's Game Menu.

As long as they show up with their own icon in the game menu.

there is a generic umd patcher at ps2nfo.com.. i was just looking for it and couldnt find it, but i kno its there, its a generic one, so it may work with some and it may not work with others. you might go through a few x folders before you get an iso to work

Ok, I found that and it has that loading window shared with the other ones that use that "x" folder.

I read the readme, and the game I tried to "fix" gave an extraction error. It's an older game too... do some games just not work? Or should they all work and I'm just doing something wrong?

well some games wont work, and sometimes you need to experiment with different 'x' folders to get other ones to work.
