Need help With Getting Ms Dashboard Back

Hey, I have the same problem, I tried installing onto a crystal xbox with an older version, I get Error 13 on boot. And when I try to use the Slayer 2.6 CD I get error 14.
I was thinking, should I disconnect the hard drive and then boot tyhrough the Slayer disk? then reconnect it once working? [Or is that a major safety risk lol]

DJ...did you happen to get a file called eeprom.bin in your drive backup?? If you did post back and I'll tell you what you need to do next.
Fairz..What have you deleted to get into this situation..your way out is a hotswap if you can't get anything to boot in the dvd drive..follow the link a few posts back

did you download the Softmod file 325MB? If not, download it. Extract it. You will have E and C folder.
Then do the hotswap again. Delete everything in partition 0-4.
Then copy everything inside of C folder (above) to parttion 3.
Then copy everything inside of E folder (above) to parttion 4.
Done.
This should work.

Yo..DJ.. it's really straightforward itf you have the eeprom file..go and get XBOXHDM and read all the instructions...dead easy to repair the box then..and If you do a restore to factory you can sell it or trade it or whatever..

i recently softmodded my xbox. I accidently deleted all of my game saves to halo 2. Even map packs, and my gamertag. I went back to Halo 2 and remade my gamertag, and put in my password when i pressed a for xbox live. It gave me two choices, either gee updat, or continue offline. How can i log on and play halo2 on xbox live.

just get the update then go to xbox live then go to content download then there is all of the maps.

well how about you just get the update, as long as your softmod didnt get your live account banned you should be good.

Okay, I have almost the same problem, except far more complicated. I got my friend to softmod my xbox for me using the MechAssault exploit and doing whatever.. When I got it back it had the EvoX dash(it was blue) but I could not access the MS dash. After about a month or two I couldnt stand no being able to burn cds or go onto xbox live so I tried to unsoftmod it I guess. I read alot of things trying to get it off, but none of them worked. I cannot FTP but I can burn CD-RWs. So I burned Slayer 2.6 iso onto 2 different CD-RWs and none of them worked. I could see them but when I pressed A it did nothing, so all I could do was look at it. In a confused/desperate state I looked through the File Explorer and found the xboxdash.xbe and hit A and it brought me to a black screen. Nothing would happen after that. So I went back to trying Slayer, which would not boot. I went back to the xboxdash.xbe and pressed start and hit patch file or something like that.. and when I started up my xbox again it said, "13 Service Required. Call customer support" So basically, I have no dashboard anymore and Slayer wont boot.. Can anyone help me?

Have you got a live game like halo2?? try to boot something like that and then go to the live update...what the original cause of the problems was....The drive was left unlocked..another way to cure the thing, if as I suspect the drive is unlocked is to download xboxhdm and rip the slayers iso (you'll need something like extractxiso) find the eeprom backup file on the hdd and make sure to save it to a floppy or something..it's very important..and restore all the contents on C:\ and make tdata and udata forders on E:\..but try a live enabled game first...
If none of this works you'll need to invest in a chip...

I cant even go onto live anymore, my friend switched out my harddrive with my online account on it for a bigger one.. And my harddrive im almost positive is Locked.

Well if it refuses to boot an M$ dashboard it could be a locked issue. But what i would recommend would be to get a new chip and install it, its a fairly simple and easy procedure, if you would like to know about some cheap chips, tell me and I can point you in the right direction.

Ahh, this is exactly what I wanted to avoid. I never wanted to get a modchip, just a temporary softmod because i was bored. But now I have no MS dash and no EvoX dash. So im pretty much screwed. I just want to know if there is a way to boot from a disc (Slayer wont work) and just reset everything so I just have a normal xbox again.
And yes, the HD is Locked.
