I love my epson photo R220 printer but at the same time it lies to me about how much ink i have. it says that im out of ink but i poked a hole in the bottom of the cartridge and ink was just dripping out. these were the original cartridges that came with the printer so im guessing its just epsons way of trying to make me spend my money faster but i bought some ink from supermediastore.com and im wondering if the chips on generic ink cartridges try to screw you over on how much ink you have also? i've seen some stuff on the web about a chip reseter not sure about it im not trying to drain my cartridges dry because i dont want to damage my printer but i don't want to throw away a cartridge that still has a good amount of ink in it. basically my question is are the chip reseters worth it or are generic ink chips more accurate?
I dont have a r220 but I had a old stylus that did the samething and I received a form in the mail for $40 reimbursement due to class action lawsuit against epson
Geroid04- I don't have a R-series Epson Printer either but I do have a EPSON STYLUS CX-7800 all in one . I used the Epson Factory cartridges till they ran out ! & have been using Generic/compatible cartridges ever since From EZINNJETS.COM if that matters . And I have found you can print all the way to empty with no problem ! Epson's are great printers but then tend to clog up a little even with their own ink!So run the head cleaning & nozzle check utillity every now and again & you should be fine ! Also another tip for epson owners is If your not actaully printing turn the unit off! Saves wear & Tear on it & keep the printhead from drying out and clogging up more ! Happy Printing!
This may be a newbie question but do you have to fill out the claim form if you registered your printer with epson after you bought it? All the fine print an twisting of wording has me confused (which isn't hard to do). Thanks.
I filled out my claim last month, and the next day the papers arrived-very quick. It was full of mumbo jumbo, LOL. It asked what type of settlement I wanted like- voucher for their store or combo of $10 or $20 check and half that value of that voucher. I don't plan on recieving anything.
Those ink cartridges at private.abacus are very good.I change mine when they hit around 5%,pull cartridge out and shake-pretty much empty. I don't want to risk running out during a dvd cover print.
Abacus increased their prices for the epson R-series disc printers. Go check out supermediastore.com.
$11.22 a set,and free shipping with over $45 purchase going on right now.
