I have a ps2 and i have a question. Its ben working and all and now all of a sudden the right light wont turn green or nything. Im pretty fond of playstations and i do repair them. THis problem baffles me though. I tried replacing the chrome wire out and put it into a nother ps2 and it workes ( other ps2 didnt have) So i know its not the woring. Does it have anything to do with my Mother bord? Plz help

My guess is that it's maybe the actual button that's broken. Change that, and post what happens.

i HOOKED THE CHROME plug back, and now the red light ownt even go on!, someone please give me instructions fast.

You didn't understand what I meant by the actual button. The actual button is NOT, I repeat, NOT the chrome ribbon cable. It's the button ASSEMBLY. Snap the buttons off the top cover when you take the console apart. Maybe the On/Reset button is not touching the switch that turns on the PlayStation 2.

What version is it it could be a fuse thats dead. IF PS1 is dead no lights.

mridha IS getting a light: the red one only(Standby). If replacing the button assembly doesn't work, then try replacing the fuse.

It must be the light. I had that problem and fixed it today when I recieved my power reset cable to replace my old(broke) one. It works great with the new cable.

The problem is not the cable. It was already replaced, and it did no good. Like I said, it's maybe the button assembly(Divineo sells them on their website: www.divineo.com). If it's not there, try all the different regions on the site(shown by flags of the country).
