New at Office Max... Magnavox DVD media . Any ideas who makes it?

wow, this is a new "brand" that i haven't tried yet, was wondering when a new company brand would come out, despite the manufacturer... :)

i don't have a definitive answer as to who makes it, but i'm WILLING to "guess" that it's either CMC MAG or Ritek (if it's actually "made in taiwan") :)

if it's country of origin is Japan, there is a decent possibility that it COULD be Taiyo Yuden (as i've used Panasonic brand before that were INDEED TY produced) :)

if it's made in India, Moser Bauer is almost a definite candidate for the manufacturer...

so, we can all guess until someone actually BUYS them and get them home to reveal the MID, but until then...we can only "guess" :)

how much are they btw? on sale? reg. price? do you know the country of origin off the top of your head?

It is 2 for the price of 1....Ad states $12.99 to $29.99.In packs of 25/50&100... No specific pricing in the ad. Will see today..

Saw that add in Office Max and was curious myself as to who the mfr is, but deep down I fear it will code CMC Mag. If it is Moser Bauer, forget it they are really bad. Wish it were Ritek or sigh TY, then I would invest some money. If you get the answer please post back :)

MBI is bad?

I have a lot of MBI made verbs and the are outstanding. I've also used their Spin-X discs and they are pretty decent too!

Also,

Magnavox just started to release a new line of DVD Recorders thru Funai. What's interesting is Mitubishi makes the optical drives for these recorders.

Wonder if these disc's are Mcc?

I just bought a 50 pack for 24.99 at OFFICEMAX(buy 1 get 1)and the MID is CMC MAG M01. The same MID as the officemax brand offered last week at 29.99 per hundred.
I have had very few problems with this MID and am glad to see them at 26 cents each,although my pioneer dvd-110 firmware 8.37 only writes at 8x, my memorex sees it as 16x...
