I got a DVD movie, which feature both spanish and english main menu.

Generally, the spanish menu is the default, which means whenever, however I view my DVD on computers, or DVD player, the spanish menu appear first.

Is there any way to switch it, to make my english meny appear first?

I am not familiar with those items on the right side like 'title 1' or 'VTS_1', frankly I really don't know how to deal with them. I tried to drag the main movie, plus the english menu into the left side, but the outcome was neither menu was avaliable.

If I backup the full disc, the spanish menu will still be my default menu. Should I use re-author? Or any other software?

Thanks for help

Here is a DVD Shrink guide for you.

http://mrbass.org/dvdshrink

When you use shrink in re-author mode you will loose your menu's but I think you can still have them?...but I dont know how.

You could always use dvd decrpter to put the movie onto your pc then use vobblanker to blank out what you dont need while keeping the menu you require.

Whenever you use re-author in shrink you get NO menus.
CloneDVD2 lets me check or un-check the menu option, and select which video files i want, but im not sure if there is a way to check the menu and have the menu come up with english only for it. I also use AnyDVD and it has a language part that you could click on English, but im not sure if that will force the English option on the Menu part. It may only be for audio settings.

you could always try this to see if its a good enough substitute.

http://www.filepedia.com/video_software/dvd_tools/menushrink.cfm

software description:

MenuShrink is a small application that lets you compress DVD motion menus by turning them into still menus with or without audio.

sounds like a angle problem to me. try striping the angles , keeping only angle1. I had to do this with Star Wars. I used DVDdecrypter to keep only one of the angles. You could however just use re-author and keep the movie only but like was said before you will lose menus if you re-author.

No, you will only lose menus if you choose re-author in DVDshrink.
Trust me I have removed angle 2 and 3 on the Star Wars and have functional menus.
Use DVDdecrypter stream processing keeping only angle 1
Use DVD Shrink to remove audio and compress if needed- then burn.
