Hi, My name is gamersinc, and I have a problem. The scenario is as follows: I am a teacher's assistant to the Department Head of Technology at a college you probably have never heard of before. In one of our classes, we help students get aquainted with computers. We show them how to run Word, Excell, Powerpoint, etc... But not everyone is at the same skill level. Some people have never used a computer prior getting into this calss...

So what I am looking for, is a piece of software that will record, visually, everything I do on my desktop. In simplest terms, I want a piece of software that would serve the same funtion as a camera pointed directly at a monitor. That way, I can record demo's and visual aides for my students.
Does anybody know of any software that would help me in accomplishing my goal? I have searched google quite a few times, and I have come up with nothing.
But yet, I know this is possible. Haven't you ever seen those commercials that claim they have a product that will teach you how to use Windows? Where you just insert the CD, and then it will start to play movies of a computer dektop... Anybody know what I'm talking about?
Well if you do, then any help would be much appreciated...

I think what you are looking for is a screen-capture program which supports capture to video files.

SnagIt is such a product I've used on several occasions. It's stable and easy to use.

Rgds,
jnihil.

I also am a teacher and bought a product called TURBO DEMO- you can record your on screen mouse movements add comments and navigation buttons. Files export as avi's, exes but my favorite is swf (macromedia flash) as these are extremely smalll in filesize and can be used on school intranet or burnt onto cd...
Robo Demo is another alternative..
