Hi, i just purchased a psp version 1.51! not sure if its euro or jap. THink it is uk! I wud like to downgrade to 1.5. But cause i run 1.51 i need to update to 2.0. Wud i be correct?

If so where can i find uk 2.0 firmwire, or cud i just use a jap 2.0 firmwire?

Can anyone point me to a uk 2.0 firmwire and maybe some directions on how to update?

And maybe lol a guide to downgrading to 2.0 with geniune files wit working links?

Last think i want to do is to update my psp past 2.0 cause someone named the file wrong on purpose.

Any help wud be great

Create a folder in ms0\PSP\GAME called update. So it will be located here:

ms0\PSP\GAME\UPDATE

Download the 2.00 Update from here:

http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Firmware-2.00-File-(EBOOT)-North-America-PSP/pg/12/fid/280/catid/163

It's the american version, but it will work on your PSP. (I am pretty sure. If you don't think you should do this, search on google for something you think is a more solid lead. Just type in something like "2.00 UK eboot" or "2.00 UK UPDATE". However, I searched for a UK 2.00 eboot and I couldn't find it. Maybe someone else can comment on this and advise you farther on whether or not you should use a North American eboot for a UK PSP. I think it will be fine, though.

but was wondering if anyone cud confirm that the us or jap 2.0 version update wud work on my 1.51 uk psp, so that i cud downgrade to 1.5?

You have to use the 1.5 Jap firmware update to downgrade. This is because at launch, American PSPs came with FW1.5, so Sony didnt have to release an american 1.5 update. For the same reason, there is no 2.00 European Update (as at launch, European PSPs came with a UMD demo that had the update).

so does that mean since my psp is version 1.51 it is a jap version?
Or if am wrong and its uk version its umb disc will have a file to update to 2.0?

is there anyway to check the eboot file to make sure it is the firmwire it says it is in the read me file?

I just say go for it. I wouldn't worry about it. I also forgot to mention the fact that when I upgraded my 1.50 PSP to v2.00, I was excited to do so b/c I thought upgrading was a good thing. Well, I upgraded my american PSP w/ a Japanese 2.00 eboot file b/c the american one wasn't released yet and it was perfect. Still in english and everything. I did forget about that, so go ahead and use the 2.00 north american eboot I sent you the link for. You're not at risk.
