No luck with shrink, no luck with CloneDVD, and no luck with dvdfab express full movie or main title. What next?

you can post a little about your computer specs...ect
go back a few post and read mine...........
i would suggest, to try it my way................
1.go to www.slysoft.com and download the 21 day trial
of AnyDvd.......................
when you get that done let us know.............
you can try..................
2.AnyDvD running in the background...
3.DvDShrink, Re-Author (Movie only) which in Freedomland the Full Screen version is Title 20, the widescreen version is Title 1.
4.DvDDecypter to burn....................
5. post us for more help............
6. if you have AnyDvD you do not need DvDFabDecrypter, and no need
to do all of that stuff.....................
7. best $39.00 i've spent yet...............
also i think doing just the main movie only also
makes life easier aswell

how do you get rid of the blue and green stripe in freedomland after you rip it using dvdfabdecrypter?

you have to have the latest version of AnyDVD to do this movie..some people have did it with an earlier version however...

I used the newest version of AnyDVD with dvd decryted and then shrink it with no problem,thanks to all for the help(together will we go along way).

I had all the similar problems as everyone here. I was able to rip it with DVDFabDecrypter and then process it with CloneDVD2. I also was able to simply compress it with CloneDVD2 after I updated my version of AnyDVD to the latest version.

Did everone end up with the movie having the normal 20 some chapters or entire movie as one chapter? I used the new version of Defab to copy to HD then used Shrink to backup movie title20 only. Movie plays fine but has only one chapter.

hey rick--
you may have to re-click your DMA box, under your My Computer drives; i have to do this once or twice a week whenever it runs sluggishly. a regular film under 4460 on DVD Shrink takes maybe 12 mins to download; once it says 40 mins, or more, i know to re-click the dma boxes on ALL DISC DRIVES and restart. always solves the problem, though i'm not sure why this happens. any answers, anyone?

Well Toot! Toot! RCCola !! I'm so old I remember as a kid buying RC Cola in 16 oz bottles for 5 cents...
Using the latest DVD FAB version, I too ended up with one long chapter for the entire movie, which then plays perfectly.
This DVD seems to be a strange one. I used DVD FAB to rip, Shrink to select and encode Title 2 of what appeared to be two identical main titles (Title 2 or Title 20), then finally ImgBurn to burn the ISO file.
First time I've seen the main title as one long chapter after backing up the DVD ...

fyi, david lynch's wonderful Mulholland Drive is also presented as a film in one long, 2 1/2-hour chapter.

Thanks for the replay Grandpwa, I wanted to make sure it was just not me that was getting the one chapter thing. WOW .... You mean they actualy had soda in bottles - heheheh - I like it - they have RC for 12 pack in cans for 1.99 - mix with jim beam and I am set.

I had problems tring to backup: When A stranger calls. Using DVD Shrink & decripter. Is this the same problem as Freedomland.
can I use the same links for programs?

for everyone,the easy way is to update AnyDVD to the lates version and then use DVD Decrypter and then use shrink and should have the whole movie with no problems,again thanks to all the people that help me with this one because it took me a while but i got it.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to blank the Full Frame version of Freedomland so I'm left with just The Widescreen/Menus/Special Features. Any help with this would be appreciated. I used AnyDVD to rip the movie to the hard drive. I've used VOBBlanker 2.1.1.0 before, but only with the default settings. Thanks.

ok, let em see if i can do this here
right click on my computer
then click on properties
then, i think, hardware? or one of the four tabs so you get to your computer's physical components.
then the drives should be first. click each disk drive, and then there should be a box there (or another level in) that says DMA. uncheck and re-check it.
do this for ALL of your drives, NOT only the dvd drive (usually no more than 3?)
then exit out, using save and apply, etc., whatever, and you MUST restart the computer when it tells you to.
then your speed should be back up.
as i said, anytime there's a sluggish download, and my cursor moves slowly towards the CANCEL button and the sound is warped, it means you need to reapply your DMA check.
let me know it this works.

It is not the drives that you need to for DMA but the controllers. Here is a a guide that will show you what to look for and how to do it.

Possibly so, depending on your system; I'm using 98, and on mine I DO go under the drives directly; I don't have any IDE ATA designation on that particular screen under My Computer. So if you have '98, then do what i said; if you have a later version, it'd be more prudent to follow that guide arniebear send. Cheers.
