Here's my dilema. I'm attempting to use a burned copy of AR MAX with a swap magic 3.6 with slide card along with a burned SCIII game. I load the AR MAX with the CD Swap Magic 3.6, load AR MAX, then insert Swap Magic DVD when it prompts me for a game. It boots up to Swap Magic DVD just fine. Then I use the slide card to put in SCIII and it loads, but then I get booted back to the memory card/disc check prompt in the PS2 menu, then I get the "INVALID PS2 DISK". This keeps happening when I attempt to use SM DVD to load a game, and it only goes back to normal when I reset the system.

Anyone know what my problem is and what I can do to fix it?

i know many people have had the same problem, but i do not know the solution. The easiest way is to go online and buy the new Swap Magic Coder which is made to play back ups with cheats.
You could also try using the DVD version of Swap Magic for both swaps.
here is how i use to do it way back before i got a modchip.

Using AR Max To Load Back Up Games With Codes

you will need Swap Magic
DVDLoader (can get it here) http://members.cox.net/candrid2/index.html
you burn the DVDLoader to a DVD
and your AR Max disc of course
Note: if you are loading a CD game or have an older V4 or below PS2 you may need to use CDLoader instead of DVDLoader, and you may need to use the CD version of Swap Magic and not the DVD version.

1. Put in your AR Max disc and when it loads up choose expert mode. Go down the list and choose your game and start with codes as you normally would.

2. When the AR Max asks for the disc PRESS EJECT and put in your Swap Magic DVD

3. When the Swap Magic asks for a disc SWAP using your slidecard or fliptop for the DVDLoader disc

4. When DVDLoader tells you to swap using EA method you PRESS EJECT and put your Swap Magic DVD back in

5. When Swap Magic asks for a disc SWAP using your slidecard or fliptop.

This should load your back up games with the cheat codes, enjoy

I get an error when I try to access that link. Also the AR Max that I burned is a CD burn, not a DVD burn, will the Swap Magic DVD still work if I try it for both that and the game?

sorry that DVD Loader is an old link.
No i guess if AR Max is a CD then you have to use the CD version of Swap Magic. Having a back up copy of AR Max just makes it too confusing because you have extra steps just to load that.
You may just want to get Swap Magic Coder 3.8
