Are you sure its the actual LCD or just the faceplate, because faceplates are EASILY replaceable..

Man... that is what the strap is for that comes with the psp. You need to disclipine yourself enough to make sure you use the strap around your wrist evertime you pick up your psp to play. It is just like a seatbelt. You can choose to wear it or not but you cant blame anyone but yourself, NOT SONY when you have a accident and didnot use common sense. I also let my 3 year old son and 6 year old nephew play my psp since i have a hori screen protector, make them both use the wrist strap and supervise my 3 year old. Never had any problems here.
PS. Also have a very thick padded protective carrying case that
hold my psp, 5 games, 2 memorysticks, earbuds and etc. I have
dropped it on concrete a few times but it is so great at
asorbing shock. Worth every penny i spent for it.

well i really couldnt blame sony since it IS my fault for dropping it...but it only fell like 2 feet and landed on carpet. i would expect the ds to be able to take this kind of damage.what sucks about my situation is that my psp is fairly new and had no scratches on it at all and ive alway been careful with it but i guess that i wasnt careful enough. Still does anyone have more info on the next psp model? i think i might get another one..i've searched google and it doesnt seem like i can get any solid info about it (just rumors)
PS: im pretty sure the LCD is damaged badly cause my face plate is fine, not even a scratch on it.. but when i turn it on the lcd inside is cracked :(

i have never drop my psp yet, but i bought the Logitech Hard Case, so when ever i drop it, the psp is more protected.... The Logitech Case is VERY NICE and cost only $20. So get one if you want to be safe cause accident can happen anywhere.....

Yup. It's happen to me with an MP3 player and a ditigal camera. Both devices still worked, but I had to hold the battery doors down with tape which sucks. I've been very careful not to drop my PSP on a hard floor or concrete.
