can i get 7v-12v from the ps2 motherboard planning a modd ive nevr done before so i will post when i have done it. just need to know this first.

is there any points on the ps2 motherboard where a could solder a wire to to get 12v

not sure, the only thing i know is the powersupply/fan which run on 12v

Go here: http://www.psrtech.co.uk/ and find a fuse diagram for your version. The corresponding voltages are listed. It is also possible to use a multimeter to test various locations that are continuous with the fuse locations to match that voltage. The fan typically runs off of 12v, I think and any where around the outer edge is a ground. So what is this mod you are going to try?

i am going to attach a fan to the top off the case one with leds maybe
what if i replace the normal fan, with the new one and get the power from where the origional fan was recieving it from, would that work?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. As long as it doesn't draw too much current it should be fine, otherwise it might blow the fuse, but they're not too hard to replace. Let us know how it turns out.
