F****** hell, know watch all the 2.7 n00bies come and ask for iso help. Its gonna be manic.. This will also reduce the price of the PSP for those wanting to sell them (eg me, haha :P)
This is bad for those with 1.5, as we will wont be in our own league, which will suck..
I may just sell both my PSPs now and get as much cash as i can...?

Now thats a very selfish limited mentality. This is going to open the floodgates of homebrew baby! It says that it will alow the loading of custom firmware too. That means any game playable! Custom booting, custom OS's etc. It has only begun!
Its a great day for the PSP scene

Right now this is not 100% confirmed and should be treated as a rumor, although the means in which we were informed of this product leads us to believe that it is indeed legit. Due to security and legal concerns, we are unable to provide more details on the source of the information. We will have more news in the upcoming weeks!

The Modchip is a Flash replacement allowing to probally just get 1.5 and 2.7 together, so it will still probally have its limitations as it is only hacking and changing the Flash which maybe fix so many bricked psp's (Probally).

3dluis its been all over today on many completely legit sites so I'm not worried too much about its authenticity. And as far as chips being bricked by sony, dream on. Why haven't they just done that with the ps1 or ps2 then. How about the xbox and gamecube. A mod chip is a very secure, very solid way to run homebrew. Lets not shoot this thing down before we even know anything about it! Its still a great day for the psp scene!

there is nothing said that this is to support dual firmware. For all we know it could just allow the use of homebrew games and not allow legit backup iso's to play.

No but we had to load a bios and a whole new oS in the case of the xbox..and the ps2 needed a heap of stuff installing on the chip...
I like the sound of this chip...about time if it works..

why would anybody release a modchip that didn't allow legit backups to load? That would be the first completely worthless modchip and nobody would buy it! LOL

all i can say is 'FINALY.." now we can do all the homebrew there is and use the new funtions of the new firmwire too....
by the way when you upgrade or downgrade how long does it take.?
for sum reason i think all this up and downgrading will make smoke come out of the PSP...

I'm not worried about any counter messures by sony. With all the other systems they haven't been able to make the games unplayable. They've only been able to ban people from using their online servers. With a chip allowing 3rd party code to be executed without being singed by sony there will always be a way to crack each "protected" game that comes out.
