I think you are overreacting. No one flamed at all. Some ppl just said that they didn't believe it. And everyone is entitled to their opinion.
So just relax.

Quote: there is nothing said that this is to support dual firmware. For all we know it could just allow the use of homebrew games and not allow legit backup iso's to play.
Well it did say custom firmware, so obviously, you'd want to have 1.5 homebrew compatibility and 2.7 together.... And maybe you might be able to add things such as Note Pad, Paint, etc

THIS IS A USELESS RUMOUR WE ALL KNOW THAT ALL THE HACKERS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO HACKE THE FIRMWARES EXCEPT FOT THE 1.00 1.50 AND 2.00
THE BIGGEST OF ALL FANJITA HAS ALSO NOT BEEN ABLE TO BREAK INTO THE PSP'S FIRMWARE AND FLASK ON ANYTHINK HIGHER THAN 2.00.
SO HOW THE HELL HAVE ALL THIS MODCHIP TEAM BEEN ABLE TO GET THE MODCHIP TO FLASH THE PSP WITH ANY FIRMWARE ON ANY FIRMWARE PSP.
MOREOVER WE ALL KNOW THAT THERE IS NO SPACE IN THE PSP TO FIT A MODCHIP
SO I HOPE U ALL UNDERSTAND AND MAKE UP ALL OF UR MINDS THAT THERE IS NO MODCHIP ATLIST ON eBAY.

If it does come out, I hope someone makes a custom firmware alowing external harddrives to work with homebrew which was my initial idea but never came to effect

People have been talking about ways to do that for months, it just wasnt possible without altering a hdd enclosures files as we have discussed. Not to mention we all kno that the psp doesnt recognize memory over 4gb.

I hope this is true, after 3.0 because if it comes out now sony might make things a bit more difficult, damn I'd love to keep homebrew and have the PS1 emu as well imagine playing blood omen, soul reaver (Yeah LOK fan here I wonder if they can continue the series) and most important Final Fantasy damn that would rock, and for the hard drive I think I'm going to buy one of those OTG external cases that work with the psp.

It will be priced at around 75 Euros, or $90. A bit high, if you ask me. But completely worth it. I guess this is enough to silence the skeptics. And making the PSP 'brick-proof'? Wow, that's something which will excite everyone. This would obviously lead to more hacks since the hackers can experiment without fearing bricking their PSP.

I read the article, but I'm still not sure about that FPC thing. So with the FPC, there wont be a need to solder the chip?

Taken directly from
Quote: Admin Note:Right now this is not 100% confirmed and should be treated as a rumor, although the means in which we were informed of this product leads us to believe that it is indeed legit. Due to security and legal concerns, we are unable to provide more details on the source of the information. We will have more news in the upcoming weeks!
I still don't see any actual proof showing that it is in fact real. Honestly, I think it's just another fluke to get everyones hopes up.

Yea, but he's got a point. Someone can always make up a rumor and photoshop some pictures and whatnot. I personally believe this modchip is true but no ones sure if this is real or not. Until this chip is actually out, no one's sure if it's legit.

think about it this way. the modchips all good and great but now that this hs come out before 3.0, sony can patch the flash memory thing now so basically, this will probably be the last chance for homebrew
30 gig crappy hp laptop
broken 24x cd burner
usb 1.1
netgear wireless card
(everybody else has the cool shit)
2.6 PSP W/ 2gb stick!

No it won't. There's no way Sony can block out a modchip.

Does anyone have any information about the developers of this chip? I mean, normally when something like this comes out, there is just a little bit more info about it, rather than the name of the product.
So.. if you actually have real information about this 'modchip' that is in development, please, feel free to post it. I want a bit more information than just the name of the chip.
