I downgraded from 2.0 to 1.5 using the MPHDowngrader, which worked great, I now have a PSP running 1.5... BUT
None of my UMDs work, they all require 2.0. I've already posted asking if there's an emulator or some way I can trick the UMDs into thinking it's 2.0, but what I'm also asking is how I can upgrade back.
I've tried using the updates on the UMD and also firmware downloaded, it just shows a screen with X and O at the bottom, if I press X it comes to an error screen without any writing, with O at the bottom, press O and back to the X and O screen :-/
Is there any way I can force an up date some how?
Regards.

you can upgrade from 1.5 to 2.0 the standard/normal way, just download firmware version 2.0 from official sony site.

It won't let me do it, it shows a green system screen with an X and O at the bottom, press X and it turns blue with two horizontal lines and an O at the bottom, press that and back to the X O green screen.
If you press O it does nothing.
Have to restart, and then I'm back to the normal system menu, and still 1.5 :-(

you do need it hooked into the ac/adapter/charger whilst updating it. so do that.

Nope, still no joy, it's like there should be text displayed... but there isn't...
With power adaptor I get a left and right arrow... but still no text :(

A BIG THANK-YOU to all three of you! Thank's for sparing the time to help me out!
I've now got version 2.0 again :-)
Can I ask one more thing... if I want to load some ISOs (legal ones of course!) is it safe to keep down and upgrading between 1.5 and 2.0, or will this start making problems?
Cheers.
Dave.

No prob. Upgrading and Downgrading, again and again, won't affect your PSP at all. Some people have upgraded/downgraded their PSPs 30 times and it still works exactly like the day they bought it.

I hope someone can help answer my questions as well on this same topic. I have the 1.52 firmware version PSP and wanted to know where I can get the 2.0 firmware version so that I can upgrade to 2.0 and then downgrade to 1.50 firmware version. My PSP is the UK version so do I have to use UK firmware when upgrading and downgrading to play UK games and will I be able to play any region games when I downgrade to 1.50?

Here's all of the current firmwares for you to download. http://dl.qj.net/PSP-Firmwares/catid/163 As long as you don't have any UMD movies you can upgrade/downgrade with any region firmware, being as UMD movies are region coded so you can only watch North American UMDs on a PSP with a North American firmware.

Thanks for your help thirst97, it is much clearer for me now. Also, I just went through my PSP box and realised that the demo disk supplied with my PSP has the firmware version 2.00 on it so I will just use that demo disk to update to version 2.00 then downgrade to version 1.50. Cheers!

you can run 2.0 games on 1.5 with UMD Emulator and MPH's 2.00 game load for 1.50. Got GTA LCS, Live 06, and other 2.0 games running on my 1.50FW PSP!

well, it wasn't answered in this thread. Just seems silly to upgrade and downgrade your firmware 30 times, thats all.
