Whats wrong with +r? You got something against it? :)
Kidding aside I believe the +R format gives higher compatability with standalone dvd players since it reads it as a dvd-rom. Im a -R kinda guy, but after this 50 pack of TY's ill be switching to +r.
Your drive will never be compatable with DVD-R DL media. You will need to buy a new drive capable of burning them. Just booktype the DVD+R DL's to dvd-rom and you shouldn't have any problems.

i just typed what i saw on the box and that is how it was diplayed i dus not burn DVD-R DL i typed it wrong this is how it should look Sony DRU720A DVD±RW / +R DL

nothing against +R just want to have it all+/- R / RW / DL / Blue Ray when it come out i want to be a over achiver on this matter cuzz i have a lot of things that i burn not just movies :)

THX for the 411 ill just wait untill blu ray burners come out and advance i alittle before i buy a new burner
ya right big money on them blu ray burners! just update the firmware and see what happens my pioneer dvr-111 says burns dvd-ram when i hit it with Nero says dvd-ram it does not so i dont know i dont really care about dvd-ram just letting you know i just updated my pioneer dvr-110 to firmware 1.41 saturday i usually check the updates every couple weeks
