I was wondering how to get TV on your PC. This is my card http://bfgtech.com/7800GT_256_PCIX.html

I was wondering if this would work with my card??? Or is there something else I need. OR how do I get TV on my computer? I know my card has a S-video slot on it.

I don't know much about this, but in order to get TV on your PC, you need to have a special TV Tuner card, which has an input for the TV signal. Only a graphics card won't work.

A S-Video output is i.e. for sending video from your computer to your TV.

If you do a google search for tv tuner card you'll get a lot more information about this.

Unless you absolutely need another TV or just don't have one, watching TV, in my opinion, on the PC is useless and too time-consuming. Just to share my two cents.

To once watch TV on PC, you will not go back to a television ever again.
The crisp, high-resolution non-interlaced picture and colour representation are great, and you realize what a primitive device an inexpensive television is.
Your vidcard claims to have VIVO. This stands for VideoIn/VideoOut.
You can therefore plug any VCR or other signal source (anything with a channel-tuner and video output) in to your BFG, and display fullscreen picture with any vidcapture software, such as Nero.

This is, of course, incorrect (if the BFG has an input for the TV signal).

But thank you anyway for replying :^)

LoL - now we're getting at the truth! I watch only F1 and MotoGP.
But if you watch broadcast television only sparingly and care about the quality, and have a big computer monitor, you will like TV on PC a lot.

I can watch tv, record tv,some software has a tv guide in it,I record me and My Socom 3 clan playing on ps2,you can take your vcr tapes and record them in video files on you pc(then burn to dvd), record old music tapes to computer(then burn to cd).

I plugged 3 colors into my tv and then 3 colors into my graphics card thing that had 5 colors on it. Two of the colors matched the red and the yellow but I am not sure where the white one goes into the blue or the green I just picked one. Now i have to go find some software i think. Providing this works..

Hi,
You could hookup the output from your PC to a television monitor, and watch that display - but this is the opposite of what you wish!
You want to display the TV signal through your PC, on your 20" LCD :^)
You have S-vid and component in and out, right?
Plug a VCR (or whatever TV source you have, cable tuner or digital satellite or ?) into the Video In on your BFG.
Right away, a program like Nero can open a video capture window and will display what you have plugged in (the input source is selectable through the Nero software).
So you fire up NeroVision Express, select component input or whatever, and look for your source to be displayed in the little Nero window. Once you see it, it can be fullscreened ;^)
nVidia WDM capture drivers (for your BFG VIVO) must be installed if you have never 'captured' anything before... but that's about it!
You can also plug old camcorders or VHS or ? into the BFG and import stuff to be authored on DVD, as NINVIN21 has noted.
VIVO is super important on any vidcard - without it you are SOL for so many things :^)
If you have just a simple Video In, you don't need ATI All-In-Wonder etc. to watch TV.
