I know it may seem dumb to burn a copy of SM, but I already have SM 2.0, but I'd like to be able to load SM3.8 for compatability when I need it. However, when I try backing it up, it errors after about 285 MB (I assume this is because of how the disc is sectioned). Anyone have any ideas?

Ya, just flat out impossible. Those ppl are full of it:) If u still have ur invoice for SM, there is an upgrade program, heres the link:
http://www.linker4u.com/pp/upgrade.asp
think u need a copy of the invoice, a pic of ur SM disks, and a copy of ur drivers license...Check it out:)
EDIT: Just checked it out, cost about $24 to upgrade, not sure if thats a deal(Upgrade is to 3.8 coder)??? Think my 3.6 set was about the same price.

Sorry svtstang, but I have to disagree. Many people use SM 2.0 to boot later versions. What you need to do Sparky is search the net for an iso of SM 3.8 because it is very hard to get your computer to read the original disc. Also about the linker4u link, I would never give any site a copy of my drivers license, especially linker4u.

Yeah, I've seen them. I didn't know if they were bogus or not though =P I suppose I can waste a little bandwidth to save myself $25. Do you know of any special burning options for them?
Edit: So I found a PAL version of SM 3.6. I'm pretty sure it's bogus though, seen as how the image is around 100MB. =( Right now my friend is trying to rip it using blindwrite, and he said that so far it's working, but when it gets to the blank rings, it slows down QUITE a bit. I'll report back as soon as I get it from him.

Never said anything bout that, just said u cant make a backup up with an image u get off the net. I tried it myself a while ago, doesnt work. I'm sure ppl do use 2.0 to boot later versions, just had nothing to do what I was trying to say:)

Ok, I understand, but "I'm sure ppl do use 2.0 to boot later versions" is what sparky is trying to do.

Well, it took my friend around 6 hours to rip SM3.8 with Blindwrite, but it works wonderfully when loaded with SM2! My copy of KH2 no longer locks up at certain points :) When compressed with 7zip, it's about a 1mb file, but extracts to about 4.35 gigs. Thanks for the encouragement sly_61019.
In case anyone is interested, here is my burning log:
