I just bought myself the network adapter for my ps2 (I have a slim, so I am gonna go buy myself a fatty once I get enough money)
But I wanted to know about HD Loader, how you can rip games and then store them on your hd. Is it possible to rip it on my computer and then send it through the LAN port?
Also people have told me there are better versions I could use. Something about Toxic OS or DMSPRO or something. Is there a better version I could get or something?
I don't believe there is a real way to send games through the LAN port, seeing as how the ethernet cable isn't hooked up to the PS2 hard drive itself (unless you have a mod chip, perhaps, but that was only with the Xbox). However, you can take that PS2 hdd, stick it in your computer, and send those PS2 games from your computer to said HDD with WinHiip.
Open up the PC, stick in your ps2 HD as a slave drive. Dont forget to switch the jumpers to slave. Open WinHIIP, select your ps2 drive, add images and install. May take a few minutes to load the games depending on the size of the game; the longest ever was like 4 or 5 minutes.
I don't know anything about Toxic OS or DMSPRO, though. Maybe someone will even prove me wrong about that whole LAN situation, although everytime this topic has come up, it's always been this solution, for the most part.
EDIT: I have just found out how to send ISOs from your computer to your PS2 directly through a LAN. Like you mentioned, you use that network adaptor.
