I am wondering if there is any way to cut download times in half or even more. How do I gain a certain number of Kbps on torrent download when I don't have a router?
I know this topic was covered before, but that topic covered how to change settings in your router. I don't even have a router. I tried bitTornado which has been known for high speeds for downloads, but I didn't like it. What do I do to escape the crappy 10-15kbps I am getting? Anyone?
Thanks for any help,

The connection is a slow cable modem. I think it's broadband. It's not quite DSL, but it's A LOT faster than 56k. I think I had one seeder...

if you only have one seeder, then you'll only get as fast as that one person can upload at a time. or as much as that person has set for usage. how fast are your downloadeds if done from a site? because otherwise it's just because of the torrent files your getting, not being that popular.

well, I tried d/lding TOCA 2 (which, now that I look at the screen shots, looks like it's going to suck) and it took me 3 attempts, and 2 days and a total of like 16 or so hours. When I say 3 attempts, that's me not happy w/ the progress and deleting it, or for some reason the progress just stopped. I let one run the other night... I checked it once and it was at 22%. Came back like 5 hours later and it was at 28%. It was about 670MB in size. This is just rediculous... I've heard BitTornado gets like 40kbps, but I downloaded it and click to run it and it says something like "blah blah blah, this is not a standalone application." WTF??? Whatever. I just called my Grandfather (it's his comp I'm using) and he said TOCA 2 is done anyway. On top of that, Colin McRae Rally '05 is done as well. w00t! I'm gonna have some good games to play tonight! Once the UMDs come out, in the US, I will buy them so I can have legitimate back up. I DON'T CONDONE OR ADVOCATE PIRACY. In fact, I bought WRC (World Rally Championship) and ripped it to ISO. I couldn't get it to work and brought it back. Then, I downloaded the torrent and found that it worked, so I went and bought the game again to have it as back up. That's just how I roll. But it will still be cool to pwn these games in teh meantime while no one else in the US can play them yet. w00t!

the programs, bitlord/bittornade whatever can't accept more like 40Kbps if there isn't 40KBps available, u might only get 20Kbps downor the other person can only send 20kbps, if nobodys sending the other 20Kbps you'll still only get 20Kbps it's all about connection speed, try a speed test site search google for bandwidth test, and try one, just to see what you get.

erm, no iso's are illegal.
Use UMDDump to backup your own commercial games
or Fastloader 0.7
Plus, if you convert the files of your own games you learn how PSP works (in a weird backward kinda way)
Plus iso's are covered in a differnt forum, try P2P Software help
