How can I get a free version of Voblanker? I cannot burn Underworld Evolutions with Shrink 3.2. Does anyone have an answer for this? This movie is INCREDIBLE!! Rivals the Matrix movies in some ways.
Thanks!

i believe you mean rip with dvdshrink. you can rip this movie using AnyDVD in the background with DVD Shrink.

you can get a 21 day trail of AnyDVD at www.slysoft.com

@matrix69.
i just finished wathching the movie it is an amazingly good movie, escpecially for being a sequal. if you want to go the free route dvdfab express- vobBlanker-dvdshrink is the way to go,no trial, no pricetag, no problems with this movie either. i have burned probably about 3-50count spindles with this combo,and other than a bad scratch here or a bad press there have not encountered a movie that these three programs can't handle. all of which, if i'm not mistaken can be gotten from the AD software page.

You can also run AnyDVD in the background then rip with DVD Decrypter then compress/encode/burn with DVD Shrink (you will need to install Nero since DVD Shrink uses Nero's burning engine). There are multiple ways to do this. This just happens to be the way I did. tjedwards also lists a good method for doing this movie that I have tested out as well.

Some people are a lot like slinkies. They aren't really good for anything but you can't help laughing when one tumbles down the stairs.

Ok.. so now, I think this is the third time I have posted something like this on this site.. lol... First off, I got my real bought copy of Firewall yesterday, and the first thing I did was DVD Shrink 3.2 and that is it to the hard drive folder of my media center system. No, problems works great. but since reading all of these Nero errors and so forth in the past few days.. Nero 6.6.0.17 for those of you who have recently updated Nero lately mainly to get the lightscribers working.. This ver or ver in this area do not work w/ shrink dvd 3.2. I am hearing that the new ver 6.6.1.4 is a hit and miss. But most importantly if you have that nasty 6.6.0.17 ver of Nero.. Just go into your preferences of shrink and turn off the Nero to burn option and shrink will work once again..

PS.. Now. I feel truely upset cuz my underworld evo hasn't arrived yet. U think it would of arrived w/ firewall at the same time.. just wonderful, so the wife gets her movie but I am screwed once again...

Hello, guys.

First time poster. Just wanted to let you know I was able to backup my copy of U:E using the DVD Decrypter/PgcEdit method.

Although I got an error message when I tried to use DVD Shrink, I was able to burn the files using DVD X Copy Platinum, so if you have that burning software, this should work for you.

There were some kind of PgcEdit backup folders in the folder DVD Decrypter/PgcEdit created, so I just deleted those and used DVD X Copy Platinum to read the regular Video folder. I'm not sure what those extra backup folders are there for, but I had to delete them in order to get it to work. I just checked the disc and it worked fine. Nothing was missing and it looked great.

I don't know a whole lot about how these programs work, so I wonder how/why DVD X Copy Platinum is able to burn a 7GB movie onto a regular 4.7GB DVD. It seems to shrink it and burn it at the same time, although it takes about 45 minutes to do it. IIRC, DVD X Copy Platinum is no longer available. I am glad I was able to get it when I did because it has come in handy so many times when DVD Shrink was unable to read a disc.

The great thing about DVD Decrypter is it STILL can rip any movie that comes out and you don't have to wait for an updated version.

Underworld Evolution > AnyDVD > Shrink (only movie) 100% (no compression) no problem. It did not play well with Recode.

DVDFab decrypts the movie to a folder. You may change the location of the folder on your HDD. Mine points to D:\DVDFabDecrypter_Temp\DVD. This is the folder where I go to open the files from another program.

If you have to open up decrypter again and see where you had the setting the last time you used it.

Ok, I know this is odd but I had no issue doing this movie the old way with DVD Decrypter and Shrink. I initially had issues getting the disk to be recognized in my computer but after getting through that it is no issue and the movie is surprisingly small.

Just backed up 'Underworld Evolution' and 'When a Stranger calls' to 4.7GB DVDRs. using AnyDVD 5.9.6.3 + CloneDVD2 no problems business as usual took about 37 minutes each for the whole process. Both of those dvds had some crazy copy protection in them and lots of it. AnyDVD is really good as long as you keep it uptodate.

I've had no probs @ all with Underworld:Evo & DVD Shrink! Worked first time as usual - no need for anything else.

Only ever had probs with 2 backups - both were Sony DVD's. Do they use different encryption?

@Dave182

You were able to rip the movie to HDD with Shrink by itself without AnyDVD? Amazing? You also used some other program to burn the DVD because Shrink is incapable of that task.

Shrink ripped to HDD 1st time with no probs & no extra software.

I used Nero 7.0.5.4 to burn to single-layer DVD.
