@ 1Tizz
get a free copy of DVDFab decrypter here: DVDIdle.com/free.htm. After you run it through DVDFab you shouldn't have that problem. DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 is no longer updated. It does not have the ability to break the Sony ARccOS code. Get DVDFab Decrypter and try again.

Give me a little time and I will set up an example of how to use VobBlanker. I will post it tomorrow night. Hang tight and we will get it worked out. I won't use AnyDVD. The only programs I will use are DVDFab and VobBlanker. Will that work for you?

Thanks for your help...

There are those which choose to use all free programs. Most of the time they have no problems (alcohol is 100%) but my $34 was well spent for AnyDVD to not ever have these types of problems. It gives me a lot of options and I do not use cloneDVD. Rarely do you ever have questions about why AnyDVD doesn't work with program X. So far I'm 100% with AnyDVD and it's a hell of a lot easier. Just my 2 cents.
Edit: Sideways2 I used AnyDVD and Shrink and burned with Nero with no problems. You may have a bad disc or something set wrong. Try using AnyDVD's ripper and then use Shrink.

Wow, AnyDVD works great and I still had my DVD43 on my Pc I just closed it out.
After the 21 day free trial I think I will buy AnyDVD, I now have a backup of Underworld Evolution.
Thanks for all the Help, Im not sure about the Pgcedit or VobBlanker programs, they seem to hard to figure out for a novice like me so maybe I won't have to use them even though there on my Pc.
Anyway, Im off to bed thanks again!!

Sorry for the late response. Still getting everything organized with my PCs. Anyways, I finished the fix. The only thing is that I did not feel like re-ripping the DVD, so I am not sure if the sector addresses are still corect after I shrunk the menu. This means that you may have to open the DVD with PGCEdit and save to correct the sector addresses. Also, using "get VTS sectors" in IFOEdit would do the trick.

Thanks for your efforts. Sorry, but I realize now that I should have mentioned my movie is fullscreen. Don't know, but it seems that adding the files from your fix might bork things up. I haven't had a reason the use DVDD in IFO mode, just File and ISO as per ScubaPetes' guides. I'll hafta look around for a walkthru on it. Also one for PGCEdit.
I'm curious to know if you found out where the directors comments are embeded if in fact that is the case here.. That's the only problem I've had with the backup this flick, otherwise I'd be grinin'. I've searched the forums and haven't found anyone else w/this same problem. Spooky stuff going on here...... Thanks

IFO Mode is usefull for reauthoring, ripping smaller portions of a movie, ripping audio only, etc...
Well, the fix may work for the full screen since the movie is the same. You may have to edit something in PGCEdit or IFOEdit though.
As for the director's comments, I am not sure where they are. I imagine the last audio streams on the main movie. If there are two commentaries, then the last two streams will be the ones. I do not remember and never bother with those. Actually, the only commentaries I have ever listened to were Japanese and I do not speak or understand the language...

I am trying to backup a copy of Pink Panther with DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. Since this is a SONY DVD, the process gives me an error message. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do a search for pink panther. It has been disscused many times.
It has been backed up by many ADers using many different programs both free and store bought.

I backup Underworld Evolution, firewall, Pink Panther & a few others using CloneDVD2 & AnyDVD without any problems. In fact I have not updated my AnyDVD for a long time - it's still 5.841. If I don't face any problems, I will not update.

After reading several of the posts, I decided to research the problem myself, and I was able to find a very simple solution that I wanted to post. First I wanted to say thanks to all the ideas on this blog that helped me lead up to the simple solution. To burn the movie to a DVD-5 follow these instructions.
1. Use dvdfab decrypter to rip the VOB files(and everything else) from the DVD drive to a temporary directory on your computer.
2. Use DVDshrink and open the files. The whole DVD will be cached into DVDshrink. Choose the backup option and choose a different directory.
Whalla, once the backup is complete, you will have a full working DVD. If anyone has an even easier solution please let me know.

I am using alkohol's guide for making backups, and I have a problem during playback. If I watch the backups on my xbox360, they play fine, but I have played them in 3 different dvd players and they all start to skip and evevtually freeze completely. Would it be as simple as running a cleaner through the dvd players or am I doing something wrong? The movies I have had problems with are Hills Have Eyes, Grandmas Boy, and Underworld.

What type of media are you using? Is it quality stuff or cheapos? This could be your problem.
