Well, I just backed up Freedomland for the third time and it messed up in same spots everytime but it is still watchable. I used the latest versions of Anydvd(5.9.6.2) and Clonedvd2(2.8.9.9) and good media(Fuji -R). It must be the Sony copy protection as it is protected to the hilt.

i don't know if freedomland is a sony movie but, when it comes to sony or disney movies i'd do the following. decrypter or fabdecrypter to HD/vobblanker to clean up the mess put there by sony or disney and to get rig off the crap i don't want/your favorite compressing program, at this point any would do.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

if what your saying is true, then you have a bad disk. If it keeps happening in the same spot then look for a visible scratch on the disk, or it was written bad. Try a new disk.

Hi Elizerroi, and others in the thread,

I've been following "Alcohol's Guide", and using DVDFab Decrypter, VobBlanker, and Nero Recode 2, on all recent Sony and Disney movies.

I've had great success with that format, until 'Freedomland'(a Sony production).

DVDFab Decrypter went without a hitch, and VobBlanker as well, but Recode 2(version that is part of the Nero Ultra 7 edition) couldn't get past the 'Quick Analysis' (at about the 59% mark) it does at the outset of it's segment of the process. The error message was as follows:

"Nero Recode encountered a problem and can't continue.
Failed to read from the file VTS_11_1.VOB.
Invalid access to memory location."

Thanks in advance, for help any of you can provide, to get me over this speed bump!

On another subject; Have any of you had any experience with DVDNexTCopy?

I used DVDXCopy Platinum for some time with sucess. Unfortunately, it's no good for any of the newer copy protection tricks they have now.

I got an e-mail when NextCopy came out, inviting me to try it at a reduced price, because of my previous use of XCopy. I took them up on their offer, but could never get any burns to play on anything but the computer they were burned on.

After much trial and tribulation, I finally accepted their refund offer. It's too bad it didn't work, as it was pretty much a one step process, just like its' predecessor.

Has anyone out there had a similar experience with DVDNexTCopy, and were you able to get it to work?
