okay, i'm new, and i had my psp since last nov. at skool we have one of them wireless things.... sadly, when i try to connect, it says IP address timed out or sumthin like that, earlier at the other high skool, i could get on, but i was disconnected as soon as my bus started to leave.... so can anyone help me?

Ok well you have to be close to the router. Think of it like this. You are near a fountain that spits up and in a diameter of 10 feet will get wet. You want to get wet. If you leave that diameter you wont get wet. If you leave the router access you wont get internet

do you need a router to get on the internet or could you connect with just a modem?

I think its possible with a modem but not very effective. So use a router.
