Your using the worst discs in the world:

Disc ID: CMC MAG-M01-00
Suggest you use better discs such as TY, Verbatim, Fuij (Made in Japan) or Sony (made in Japan).

yea i know someone told me, but there's no way they could be selling ones as bad as they seem.

So do you think lowering the speed would fix the skipping thou?

You can lower the burn speed all you want. In the end, the quality of the disc is an important matter. Read some of the posts on this forum and others. You'll quickly find that they are that bad.

You can even find this out for yourself. Run some quality checks on Memorex discs and then the others I mentioned. Compare the results. Facts don't lie.

I would slow the speed down to 4X, it never hurts to try.

thanks, i just burnt one at 4x hopefully it works well without skipping. I think the main reason it was skipping a lot because it was going insanely fast, hopefully this fixes most of the problems.

HAHA thanks for letting me reread it

found something that helped me

"The Memorex branded CMC Mag media you have is among the worst manufactured which is part of the problem. You cannot burn this at max speed without running into a lot of problems and failures. I wouldn't even try to burn this at more than 4X even with an internal burner. "

Seems your asking the same questions over and over. Perhaps if you followed some advice, you might get the results your looking for?

How are you viewing these backups when the skipping occurs? Stand alone player or on your pc?

Make sure your burner plays its own backups. And they should look near original.

Definitely slow down the burn speed. And:
Keep compression to a minimum-main movie only.
Also wouldn't hurt to reduce the backup target if you get a lot of issues on the end of your backups.

If those issues occur in your stand alone player only after those changes: It means it doesn't like your media,or the lens is dirty.

Make sure your DVD-RW drive can play it's own backups.

Crap media can be burned ok,but the quality factors in when you play those cmag backups in picky stand alone players.
