hey there... i know there must be millions of questions asked like these.. well im sure u can answer one more ;).
anyways i use the following software for my dvd needs..
dvd fab decrypter & dvd fab platinum and also divx dvd ripper 1.4...
im facing some prbs with dvdfab platinum.. whenever i copy a dvd removing the region codes the copied dvd skips and all...
now wat i wanna know is that is there any sofware out there which basically does
1) copy original dvd to dvd having the option to remove the region codes but keeping everythign else intact (like dvdfab platinum)...
2) i can make dvds out of avi, xvid & divx movies(currently im using nero with nero vision expres... but not happy with it.. takes very very long....)
(i also wanna know how to add subtitles)
3) also convert dvd to other video formats like avi xvid or divx etc....
4) make dvd9 to dvd5

id appreciate it if any1 could take the time out and help me...
cheers

desai14,
Welcome to the forum. I think the skipping is because of the blank media you are using or the speed you are copying at. Try Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blank media as they are the better brands and keep the copying speed to 1/2 the rated speed of the disk.

1. " 1) copy original dvd to dvd having the option to remove the region codes but keeping everythign else intact (like dvdfab platinum)... "

DVDShrink does that and you can get it here: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/software.htm

Also a guide for using DVDFAB Decrypter to rip the disk to HD then use Shrink to compress and then use DVDDecrypter to burn the compression to DVD. All of the above programs are free:

http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/software.htm

2. " i can make dvds out of avi, xvid & divx movies(currently im using nero with nero vision expres... but not happy with it.. takes very very long....)

Below is a program and guide that will help you and it is free

3. " 3) also convert dvd to other video formats like avi xvid or divx etc"
You can use TMPGEnc and below is a guide to convert DVD to SVCD

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2svcd_with_tmpgenc.cfm

4) "make dvd9 to dvd5 ".

You can use the first programs I suggested

1. "but tell me one thing is DVD Shrink better than dvd fab platinum"
They are both nothing but compression programs and IMHO about equal

2. " is there any other program that is the best & fastest.. its okay even if its not free

When you are doing DVD Movies I am looking for quality and not speed. I use DVD-Rebuilder-Pro but it is not fast as it is an encoder and the programs you use are transcoders. Big difference in Quality though

3. " how do i add subtitles to movies"
Are these commerical movies or homemade ones. Subtitles to me is the English language appearing at the bottom of the screen when you view a foreign film
