Swap Magic is for booting back up games, not programs.

I have Swap Magic 3.3 and I'm trying to get USB Advance to boot off of my USB mass storage device and it doesn't boot it. I have created a SWAPMAGIC folder on the root directory of the drive and renamed the USB Advance .ELF file to "SWAPMAGIC.ELF". Has anyone tried it with Swap Magic 3.3?

MasterChu,
Could you get the CDLoader .elf file to boot on an "un-chipped" PS2 system? Can I ask what version of CDLoader was that? Because I tried the 7.5 (beta) version and it just froze. I can boot it through a CD (CDLoader) or DVD (DVDLoader) however, but not just from the .elf file alone.
Is there an updated list of all the .elf files which can be booted directly off either the memory card or USB flash drive?
Adding to your list:
- Launch ELF
- Memory Card Killer / Format
- USB Advance
- CD Loader
- Reality Media Player
- My PS2 (another media player)
I could also boot the following:
- SNES emulator
- SEGA emulator
- Cogswap Exploit

I don't think it's because your USB flashdrive is set as FAT32 since all the USB flashdrives I've come across use this format. Did you create the SWAPMAGIC folder in the root of the flashdrive? ie. not inside another folder

i formatted the usb stick and put the swapmagic folder there.. and its on the root directory of the stick. I used a kingston 1 gb stick and 1 not known brand. but still doesnt work. And do i have to use dvd SM 3.3 or the cd version?. i tried that too but both didnt work.. I also tried with my Ar2 but it couldt detect the usb devices.

hatebreed,
It shouldn't matter which Swap Magic disc you use, CD or DVD. Since AR2 didn't detect your USB flashdrives, maybe that's the problem. Your flashdrives might not be compatible with Swap Magic and AR2.
simon_des,
You don't need to rename the actual flashdrive to SWAPMAGIC. You just need to put the .elf file that you want to boot inside a folder called SWAPMAGIC. Make you that you create this folder in the root of the flashdrive. And don't forget to rename your .elf file to SWAPMAGIC.ELF too.
I had a PAL Swap Magic Coder 3.8 and yes, it worked for me.
afgunzzz,
I had a no-name brand USB flashdrive and it didn't work because it wasn't compatible. So check your USB flashdrive. Try different brands if you can.

afgunzzz,
No probs dude. I don't have a PSP so I don't know if it can do the job. You have to give it try yourself and see I guess.
hatebreed,
How did it go with your new USB flashdrive? Did it work?

I don't think you can boot anything from the memory card with Swap Magic, just from a USB flashdrive (I could be wrong though). Did Action Replay recognize your new Sandisk 1GB flashdrive? Maybe try a different .elf version of HDLoader? Also, I've heard that certain .elf files only work if run from a cd rather than a USB flashdrive. I don't really muck around with HDLoader because I don't a HD for my PS2.
