So basically what your saying is that we have to change the prxs inside each images that we want to run (like Monster Hunter Freedom, GTA, and Naruto Portable)by decompiling and recompiling? I've got other isos (DBZ and Street Fighter)to run perfectly through the new devhook, but had issues with the ones mentioned above. Can anyone verify these games actually booting, I keep getting a blank screen?

Hey SVT, what settings did you use to run GTA in Devhook? I just need to make sure my iso isn't corrupt.

i've looked there and no luck. also googled and can't find it, although i did see a warning that there's a fake fix that will brick your psp! can anyone confirm that there's a real fix with working wifi at 333, and if anyone has it could you email it to me please?

I have never heard of this fix ur talking bout, both .40 and .41 do not support wifi at 333/166. Although, at this rate, this may be a possibility in a month or so. PSP is home to some of the greatest hacks around.

First off, i'd just like to say that my previous two posts were made on the PSP 2.5 web browser launched on my 1.5 using devhook, which is amazing.
Secondly, i've been having problems with GTA being jerky at 222 so can only play it at 333, up to this point without wi-fi.
Finally, there is a working fix, here is the link:
http://www.ps2nfo.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&file=viewarticle...
It includes version 0.41a, i've just installed it and checked it and, despite having to set up my internet connection and backgrounds etc that i had on my booted 2.5 again (all bookmarks were kept), i can confirm that it works and has not bricked my PSP!!!
One last point, i've tried playing World Cup 2006 and Fight Night Round 3 using infrastructure multiplayer and keep getting disconnected just before the game/fight. Any idea if this actually works (maybe because i'm using ISOs not UMDs?)

With GTA, i opened a full untouched iso in WinRAR and extracted the contents. you'll find that the contents will only be about 850Mb (something to do with the padding of the ISO?).
This stage may not be necessary, but i did it to save room on my memory stick and because custom sountracks work with devhook. i ripped the update and all the radio stations using Lande's UMD Ripper 2.5 (from PSP-Hacks.com)
Then I just rebuilt the ISO using UMDGEN 3.01 (don't bother using Ciso, you'll find its really jerky even at 333). The ISO should be about 570Mb, just copy it to ms0:\ISO, and run devhook. I think you may have to use at least 0.41, i tried it on 0.40 originally and i got black screen. Use the following settings in devhook and it should work
UMD Select: Whatever you've called the ISO (e.g.GTA LCS.iso)
UMD Mount: ISO ANYUMD
Firmware: 2.50+2.00
Boot Select: Reboot XMB
UMD Version: 2.XX -> 2.00
CPU Clock: 333 MHz
If you run it at 222 its as jerky as a .cso of GTA at 333, but i've found it runs fine at 333 for .iso
That's what i did anyway, no prx swaps. I did dl the ISO though (slap wrists)

@crazyf00l. thx for the input on GTA. Did u even get it to run when in .cso cmpression? I think my problem was that i was trying to get it to boot using .40, was 2 lazy to dk .41 Nice to hear that u got it to boot without a prx swap also, a lot of ppl will be glad to hear that:) also 570mbs? Thats awesome, thats around the size i have when in .dax compression.

Did you find that it was a bit jerky in dax even at 333? I find it much smoother using this method, plus everything works now using the 333 wifi fix, custom soundtracks, cheat device and multiplayer!
I did get it to run in ciso but found it freezes up for a couple of seconds quite frequently, even at 333mhz.
Anyway, i thought i'd post links to the software i used, you can download winrar by clicking on the link in my last post
Lande UMD Ripper 2.5
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/174 UMDGEN 3.01
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/454
Create a new folder anywhere on your hard drive and extract PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA.BIN to that folder.
UMD Ripper's in spanish but its easy to use, install it then open it, hit "cerrar" then archivo, abrir directorio de la ISO and select the folder you extracted the ISO to. It will automatically rip the update and you can select which video or music files to delete. i went into music and just selected the 10 radio stations. once you've selected what you want to delete, hit "ripear" at the bottom and those files will be deleted from the folder. Then just drag the PSP_GAME folder and UMD_DATE.BIN into umd gen and select save as iso.
Hope this helps and works for everyone else.

Hi, I am new to Devhook and have been struggling to get it to work for the past few days.
I installed 0.4, then .41 and then .41a as a walkthrough I found advised. I then used updated 2.0 FW and then 2.5FW using the Devhook updater.
I load DevHook using settings described on a few forums and tried loading Gradius. The screen went black and after 10-15 seconds the PSP shuts down. I tried a few games I know work with UMD emulator so should work on Devhook and the same happens with these - Example - StarWars BF.
I have noticed there is a continuing trend of people saying this is happening to them on a number of Forums - could it be because I am using the Datel 4gb HDD? Anyone else haviing the Black Screen of Death problem using the Datel?
Does anyone out there know how if I am doing soemthing wrong, or can you give a blow by blow instruction for us including links to the downloads you've used??
Cheers in advance for any help!

Patching prx's mean replacing the encrypted ones that are not bootable on 1.5 with ones that are decrypted. Fifa 2 requires a prx swap, its an easy process. For now, download a program called UMD Gen 2.01 from any site (psp-hacks has it), read around some of the forums to get a grasp on the process (search FIFA 2), and i will give u the details in the morning, casue i am tired all hell;)
