Greetings,
Without being considered one without smarts, could someone (perhaps it has been done), give us a guide for backing up DL. The only one I tried messed up pretty badly, and thus, I would appreciate a step by step. Perhaps I have not marked all the necessary boxes. Do not have anydvd yet, so please, if possible, consider only shrink, dvd fab. Also, having problems with Nero recode. I know I am doing something wrong, but mine doesn't recode or burn as it should. Otherwise, I have no problems with backing up dvds, Thanks, and happy 6-6-6.

A simple gude;
http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/Copying%20a%20Dual%20Layer%20DVD%...

some of the newer movies you will need to rip with DVDFab or AnyDVD
then burn with DVDD,,DVDD is one of the best tools to use with DL
burning,, IMAO...

Make shure you pick the "MDS" file,,it has the layer break info in it..

I only use DVD Decrypter to burn DL discs. I use only Verbatim DL discs.
I haven't had a bad one yet (knock on wood!).
Good luck!

Just a quick question. I thought the MDS file only occurs if your running a Fat 32 file system. If your system is NTFS then no MDS file is created. I use Win ME upgraded to XP and I use the Fat 32 file system so I see the MDS file.
I have done 3 DL and maybe I need to be corrected as I wasn't paying attention as to what file was being burned. I guess my question really is does an MDS file get created in NTFS because of DL?

I was so ugly when I was a kid, my parents used to take me everywhere just so they wouldn't have to kiss me goodbye.

When i burn a DL i use DVDD, I use "ISO" read rip to HD then i find the files DVDD made,ther are two,,a "ISO",(image) file and a "MDS" file you need to use the MDS one, then i use "ISO" wright, let DVDD do it's thing....

I use shrink to create ISO and burn with decrypter. I check remove layer break in shrink and let decrypter place its own. By doing it this way my disk is automatically burned so I haven't seen what file decrypter is using as I'm not even in the room. I also change DVD-5 to DVD-9 in shrink. Works so far for me. I must be creating an MDS file as I use FAT 32. I don't have access to anyone using NTFS so I can't check. Not important, was just curious.
Thanks for your input.
