Hi, I hope I'm in the right forum. I recently recorded the UFC pay per view off of Spike with my DVD recorder (Panasonic). This DVD will now only play on Panasonice TV's. I thought I would put the DVD in the computer and decrypt it using DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0. Well, when I try to decrypt the dvd it comes back with a read error. It says it failed to read sector: 250002 and says unrecovered read error. Does anyone know how to get past this to read the dvd?? Thank you.

Hi,

Since dvdfab decrypter was mentioned might I post a link with a handy dandy tutorial http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154.

Thought I might add this one too since you have been using dvd decrypter http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/255980

After re-reading the initial post are you trying to back up the dvd you already have? Seems as the post below states either dirty disc or poor media. What brand of media was used for this dvd?

to burn or not to burn that is the question

There is no encryption on the disc you made. You probably have a dirty or scratched disc or you recorded it on poor media.

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Thanks for your replies. The CD was a Maxell DVD-R 8x. I don't see any scratches on it. I don't know if Maxell is considered bad media or not.??

Not sure about maxell but according to the link I found not very good. I would suggest some verbatims, sony and fuji (made in japan NOT TAIWAN) and taiyo yuden.
