I have a SCPH-39001... will it read DVD+R???

DVD+R gets mixed results with all ps2's, regardless their version #. If u already have a batch DVD+'s, give them a try. If not, stick with -Rs, preferably taiyo yuden or verbatim 8X's

I agree, both my V7 and V12 i had better luck with DVD-R
But now that i have a burner that booktypes all the DVD+R to DVD-Rom
they work as well. But i say try the DVD-R first if you have not bought them. And do your research on media first so you don't end up with a stack of cheap discs that will not work like
memorex, imation, some TDK,or no name brands like the store brand.
