I'm trying to shrink my dvd but it says dvd shrink can't shrink it because its copy protected. How do I take the copy protection off?

Did you rip the DVD to your Hard drive first using DVD Fab or Any DVD? If it is an older disc you could rip using DVD Decrypter or DVD Shrink. Need a little more as to what steps you have already taken.

Well DVD Shrink cannot do the newer movies due to the new protections on them. If you want to be able to do the newer movies, get DVDFab Decrypter, VobBlanker (Both Free) and then use good ole DVD shrink to encode and finish. If you want to really get the best then try for 21 days AnyDVD and Clone DVD II. They are the best out for doing the newer movies with protections on them. Visit the sites below and give them a try. If you have any trouble just get back here with us

Try This............In this Order
AnyDvD, DvDShrink(movie only), DvDDecrypter, burn baby burn....
AnyDvD will be the best, and the easiest program that
you will spend your money on.................

I'm going to try any dvd. I have a new movie (The Man). Its geting kinda scratched so I need to back it up.

ok i have been backing up new movies with any dvd and clone dvd, well here latley it dont want to read or write the disc, it use to write to a r- and then it started acting funny and would not burn on a r- then it would only burn to a r+ now it wont burn neither one and say if i copy a copy it reads unrecoverable read error , but say if i go and buy a new writer it works for about four or five movies and then back to the sos can someone help

I know that happens to me as well. I just unistall the program and then reinstall it. It works for about another ten or so movies then messes up again.

what are you unistalling
do you think it the copy protected codes on the disc doing this ,and if so is there any way around this

I have & use Any Dvd along with clone2. If you have a problem copying your copy just use Shrink.It works for me as the copy has alread has been processed useing Clone... Good luck.

ok but why is it not writing on a r- it starts to burn but then reads error, it tring to do that on r+ as well

well to tell the truth its all movies now underworld for one. but say if i try to copy a copy using Nero 7 it reads error been doing this for good while now , but when i buy a new driver it stops ,but after a few days it starts back over , or even if i reboot the computer it works. now when i have rebooted my puter i can write on a r- but after i use any dvd and clone , it wont write on r- any more.

nothing wrong with Nero 7 (unless installed wrong)
i been using for ages no probs. any dvd & clone put them in the bin.
dvdfabdecrypter & shrink will do any movie.
i would leave you my e-mail address & put you right instantly, but these dopy moderators think you should struggle a bit longer than necessary.

Nero7 is full of bugs, lots here will testify to that. I believe the best version is 7.08.02.
If you wish to give him your E-mail addy via PM that is OK.
If you only wish to help that one person, then go ahead, but don't forget that there are many people who use this site & learn from it. That is why we are all here.
If you think you can do it better, then set up your own forum. Your selfish attitude sucks, the mods here have a hard enough job to without whining jackasses like yourself making it worse for them.
As for saying bin AnyDvd & CloneDvd, that just shows that you know jackshit about anything.
We are all here to learn.
BTW, how on earth do you install something incorrectly?
PS, to any mod that may see this, sorry for the rant, but this sort of person really jacks me off. We don't need members like this.

Have you tried any other programs like....DVDFab Decrypter to rip, DVD Shrink to transcode and Imgburn to burn, instead of Nero?

yes i have tried everything ,but today i found out that if it is saved on hard drive it will copy to a R- but takes to long to do that i just wanna copy a copy with out haveing all those movies on my hard drive ive used shrink with any dvd and sometimes it reads error and then also tried dvd decrypter and only thing that copies is clone and any dvd ,but my writer acts like an ass and wont put it on the disc i want it on unless it on my hard drive
really what i wanna know is anybody else having the same problems i am with the media wether is a - or a +

Sounds like the DVD's you are trying to do have structural problems (put there on purpose by the studios). That is why you need to rip the DVD to HD, then fix the errors as AnyDVD can not do this if you are doing the movies on the fly. In AnyDVD on the taskbar is the fox head. Right click that and then use the Rip Video DVD to HD. Then use either Nero or Shrink to compress. If you want to go the free route then use DVDFAB Decrypter and rip to HD then use VobBlanker to correct the problems and then use Shrink. After you do the DVD then delete all of the files from the HD
