Do you people think? Why would Sony release a modchip that's gonna allow the pirating of games of one of their systems?

course not...the only places that you can get them is on a site. and then for instalation you can go and find someone that will do it.
i found someone and hes almost booked. thing is i was the first to ask him.
so your looking at a price of $80 for the chip. $12 to ship it to the person to install it (if hes local thats better) and $30-$60 for instalation.
expensive yes, worth it yes.

There's never been a modchip that's been sold by stores, major retailers. You've always had to buy them from a site or from a shop who will install it for you.

Lads. He asked a question. Now give him a answer and stop provoking him. Because when he does taunt you back, you wont like it.
OnLyU2-Like codeman said, you cant get it in stores. But online ones will start to sell them (if they havnt already). Just use Google.

Mod chips are 100% legal. It's the hacked code to run unsigned code on the chip that's illegal.
A modded PSP with sony 1.5 and 2.7 firmware should not be illegal.
But I'm not a lawyer.
Order a mod chip online and it will come with legal (usaully just a flash program) code. To make it usefull you would have to find the illegal firmware on the net and istall it to the chip yourself.
If what I say is untrue, you would not get a bizillion hits when googling modchip.
It would be dumb for a video game store to sell modchips. It would be the last sale they made to that customer.

I saw that a couple sites are taking preorders on the new chip for the psp, so it cant be that far away. Sony is really gonna be pissed when that bad boy is released, thats for sure.

After the release of Devhook 0.41a, I lost interest in the mod chip. But I have a 1.5.
I'd be all over this bad boy if I had a 2.7 machine. What I hope will happen, is the devs will use this to come up with an uber firmware that any PSP can flash. It's not happening right now because a slip of a hex and you got a brick.
I want one after it's been in the wild for a bit and there's some custom firmwares.
If it's even real. I'm still in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp.
