Alright, I got the Magic Keys + Swap Magic in the mail today, and I have my slimline PStwo next to me. On Magic Keys v2, I was able to put the first tools in (the one that covers the bottom right and the top right). However, when I was finally able to put the top left (Tool C) in, no matter how much I press down or rotate it, the disk won't spin.

The way I did it, I put the Swap Magic disk in, turned on the machine, put the tool in, and yet no results. I also tried turning the console on first before putting the disk in, but yet, to no avail.

Can someone please help me? I need to figure this out as soon as possible. Thank you.

Well, I already went through a ton of guides, from both there, the official Magic Keys site, and Revolution Sales. I was able to get the third tool in fine, but the problem is, I'm forced to use Scotch Tape in order to keep the tools (Tool A on the power switch as well) to make sure that the disk starts spinning. I wish I could avoid this, so I could try and close the top, but to no avail. There's also one time or another when the tape doesn't hold down as well, and the disk stops spinning in the middle of a game (good thing is that the back-ups work). Not to mention, it just looks a little ghetto this way. :)

If you have any solutions, I'd love to hear them.

You know what? I just got the magic key 2 set the other day. I had the exact problem with tool 3. No matter how much I tried I couldn't get it in the little gap. So anyway, I email the company I ordered it from (www.mod-chip.com), and politely asked them if they had any tips. I get a snarky reply telling me that everyone else can install it just fine and I should go elsewhere for help. At any rate, I got so fed up that I had to use a kitchen knife to pry up the metal tab. Duct tape is your best bet for holding the thing in place. I used scotch tape as well originally, but it didn't hold for long. Even masking tape is better. I don't really see why the disc would stop spinning in the middle. Don't you just close your lid when you start up a back up? Anywho... just know that you aren't alone! :)

Well, I had the machine working for a while, but once again, I fell into a situation. I used a piece of kleenex over the bottom right hole (where the power switch is) and that seemed to work, until my brother decided to pull out the kleenex because he thought it was trash. For some reason, it caused a chain of events, and now the top left piece that sticks into the hole won't work unless I gently hold it up, the outside of the piece facing to the left, with the tip of my finger. No matter what I do, like using a piece of metal, tape, or even kleenex to hold the piece up, it still won't stay in place.

This is getting really frustrating, and it makes me wonder if other people have had this problem as well. If anyone can provide any help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I didn't use any special method. I just used Magic Keys with a slimline PS2.

Alright, it's been about a month already, and I'm still stuck with this damn problem. I have everything else set, but that piece in the northwest corner is still giving me the hardest of troubles. Now I have to hold it up by a couple millimeters and at an angle in order to get the disk to spin. I tried putting something under it to hold it up, but it also requires pressure from above. I tried using tape, but it never worked out. Can someone please tell me why this is happening? I don't get it at all, and I really want this to work. :(

jst be patient..and try gettin it in the right angle..and stick it there..

Do you mean put duct tape underneath it or above it? Like I said, I have to hold it up a couple of millimeters from the system in order for it to work.

Thanks for your help.

ohhh if thts the case u can probably put soem thin cardboard ( small piece below it jsut to make it stay there) and stick the whole thing with duct tape..

u need to give it some kind of paddig..so that it can hold up.

lmao, well, I cut off a small piece of cardboard and taped it down 3-4 times. It works now, but I really don't like it being such a temporary fix.

I don't know why this is happening. Is there some kind of official explanation? :(

Once again, it seems to not be working, and it gets frustrating. Is there a way I can fix this by buying the other set of tools, the Magic Switch or something like that?

I had everything in place and it worked for a while, but I accidentally bumped the cover for the Ps2 (it stays open all the time), and the tape bent the pieces in, so now it's taking a lot of work just to get the laser reader to start up on the disks (haven't been able to do it again since I made the mistake). It had been working for a while, but I just wanted to know if that can be an alternate solution, or should I just buy a new set of Magic Keys?

SCPH-70001. I bought the Magic Keys in the first place so I could close the lid, but it seems due to these problems, I wasn't able to (I could if it didn't require tape).
